Default Wachovia - will they exchange Dinar?

I know there's a previous thread regarding Wachovia, but I wanted to get your attention so you Wachovia customers (and non-customers) will know.

I just got off the phone with them. They told me that if you are a customer, there is no charge to exchange Dinar. They will just credit your account. The cost is only a $15.00 transaction fee.

Wachovia will not exchange for non-customers at all.

I asked if they know if currencies are going to revalue before it takes place. She told me sometimes they know, and sometimes not. She directed me to Bloomberg.com (which I believe we already know about here).

I guess it would pay to be a Wachovia customer at the time of the reval - whenever that might be.

NENO, if you're reading these, I know you said you are a Wachovia customer and you were wondering if my statement about their exchange policy was true. I called them again and the above was their response. So, I've had 2 Wachovia employees tell me the same thing. They DO indeed do foreign currency exhanges and they DO exchange dinar - but you have to be a customer.

Anyway, just wanted to pass that along. Thanks!!

I know for a fact that Wachovia does not deal dinar.

I have yet to see any Middle Eastern Currency on sale by Wachovia. Sorry to burst your bubble. I will verify it again tom.

As well, what number did you call...you can pm it to me. On the branch level noone has a clue as to what is going on. Foriegn Currency is not something that the majority deals with during day to day operations. They know what the rate on the screen is...that is it.

Cool Yes they do the Exchange....

But here where I am at, and I am in a Big Area. The Wachovia Branches do all their currency buisness for their customers thru Thomas Cook. Now Thomas Cooks rate exchange is on top of that $15 transaction that Wachovia charges their customers to go thru Thomas Cook. I never meant they want get it done for you. Just remember this when you go thru the Transaction. Make sure you know what Thomas Cook exchange rate will be for Wachovia. Thomas Cook actually services many Banks. Other members here have said that they supply a Bank in Canada as well.

    Lightbulb But..................

It is believed that they will be in the Game. Acording to some older articles they will most likely somehow be involved with the ISX, but not direct dinar exchanges.

It is possible for them to get involved but as of right now they deal in a very limited number of currencies. I will procure a full list tomorrow. Wachovia tends to steer away from the speculative areas.

They are conservative in nature. I will be suprised if they do deal with the Dinar but who knows...they did buy World Savings.

Wachovia is one of the largest brokerage companies in business...they very well could have some sort of link to the overseas markets. Most likely not right away but the wealth services group might make some exceptions.

I've given up on Wells Fargo. I've talked to the international currency persons here in Denver a couple of times, and they always say that they can't trade currency of a country that we are at war with. Can you believe it? Sometimes I think the outback of Australia is probably better informed that parts of the good old USA.
