CBI IP address

I'm not sure where this should go, so Mods please move to proper place if needed.

For future information, if the site goes down again...the IP address I got from the ping this morning is: 64.202.189.130

Since the site is back up and running, for now anyway, this should be the valid IP address.

Yup, that's it - Now I need server gurus to step up and answer this for me. I tried to use that IP address to get to CBI website, and it won't pull up. This is the first time I've seen this. Usually IP address and Domain Names are interchangeable.

For example, you can go to Google.com, or if you use the IP you get from running a ping, or tracert, you can go to 209.85.165.147 - Takes you to the same place. Not the case with Central Bank of Iraq's website.

So, Server Wizkids out there - Why is CBI's website different? Might it have anything to do with using a different port other than the traditional 8080 port for Web sites? Or am I totally off my rocker here?

Hopefully what I've explained makes sense. I could use some help in figuring this one out. Thanks so much...

I used InternetFrog.com: Network Tools, Internet Speed Test and Website Tools to trace, and that's the address. Why are they using a server here in the U.S.?

What IP address are you looking at? CBI's IP (the one originally posted by DavzGirl) points to Scottsdale, AZ. The one I posted as an Example (Google's) points to Los Angeles, CA. At least, that's what I was pulling up.

It is one server with one IP address, that's hosting about 2000 sites/domains. That's my take. However, I thought that cbiraq.org was hosted by uruklink.net, their gov Internet company...now, I don't know anymore. I think it is the hosting with GoDaddy that gives the reverse IP.
