I called two New Jersey branches and both are buying and selling. $880.00 per million to buy, $720.00 if you're selling, $160 spread.

Just called the Minneapolis Wells Fargo Foreign Currency department. They cannot get Iraqi Dinar and the person I spoke to said she has been getting "a lot of requests" for it. She explained that they cannot get it from their "foreign vault" so thay cannot supply any "until then". She could not say if or when that would be (I asked).

Still waiting for a return call from the Virginia Branch of Chase....

    Thank you.

Maybe someone can do some more digging

When someone posts a rumor, either I believe it, or I don't....time will always tell. However, if someone has credible info, the LAST thing you should do is post phone numbers or any other info which allows people to contact them. There are over 20,000 members of this forum. The last thing Chase needs is for several thousand, even several hundred people calling about a rumor, fact or any other issue. Whoever gave you that info did you a great service. Returning the favor by giving their number to 20,000 people is not a good way to thank them

I believe Bank Of America received over 20,000 calls regarding the rumor about an exchange policy a few months ago. They were pissed! To me, that doesn't reflect well on us...It's like a feeding frenzy.

I believe your statement is solid and credible....I believe you. However, I do not believe you should feel the need to prove anything to anyone. This greatly puts upon the very institutions we will need in the future (very near future imo).

I truly hope very few people call this phone number. People have FAR more info than most will ever know, because of things like this, they keep it to themselves.

Guys let's just relax and take in all the info. Things are happening quickly.

Just called the Minneapolis Branch of Marshall and Illsley (M&I Bank) and they person I spoke stated they do not handle Iraqi Dinar, but offered to call her International Currency Department while I waited on hold. She came back on the line and said that they can not currently order any Dinar at this time. I asked if she knew who their supplier was (I asked if it was JP Morgan) and she said she honestly didn't know who they got their foreign currency from. Then she recommended I try the foreign exchange at the Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport.

So far striking out her in Minnesota (through the banks anyways).

I'll see about the airport call next....

Posting a phone number is not a big deal. 20,000 calls to a bank is no big deal.

Banks are businesses and phone calls are fielded every day. That's their job. Answer the phone, answer questions, hopefully generate business.

I for one appreciate the opportunity to do some research and having the phone number to a branch in Virginia was very helpful.

Banks are multi-billion dollar institutions and a flood of phone calls should mean nothing to them. All in a days work.

    Thank you.

I just called them. I gave you guys the wrong number.

That was the ph# we called before, when we found out it was way too far to drive (Merrifield) we called this one.

    (757) 468-0880

I am trying to find out the name of the person I talked to.

I don't know how much time I am willing to waste on this, though as someone else already posted that in Lousiana they are still selling Dinar at their Chase branch and when I called again (the number above not the merrifield one) this morning they said they handle mostly mortgages in this area. The person we spoke with yesterday was very knowledgable (and nice) but today someone else answered the phone that didn't want to give up any info.

If I get ahold of that person again I will post it.

*note if you are skeptical or think I am lying for whatever reason, then just ignore this post. I am going to post any information I get as it comes to me regardless of what you think.

Thanks for the update... I doubt I will get a call back, but no big deal.

It all depends on who you get on the phone, and how hard they want to work to get you the information you are seeking.

The easy way out (for the bank employee) is to say they don't handle it. Gets you off the phone and them on with their day.

This whole "have it/don't have it" discussion is interesting but really doesn't help one way or the other in regards to the future of the Dinar.

That's why they call this "Speculation".

    Thanks again.

    Chevy Chase Bank
just called me back. They do not deal in Iraqi Dinar.

He went on to explain they are "Chevy Chase Bank" and are not affiliated with "Chase Bank".

    Makes sense to me.

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
