Mike, I hear from some pretty good sources that this is exactly what is set to happen. I won't pretend to know 100% if or when, but I am hearing this is the direction that will be taken fairly soon.
Here's to hoping.
Be well.

You've got that right Mike..
Sadly, things are getting worse from time of original post, feds keep manipulating interest rates, then we have the core inflation rate which is so skewed it is worthless to even talk about since it does not include the two most important factors, food and energy costs. Then we listen to Bernanke say they will not be printing the latest 800 billion dollars for extending tax cuts and unemployment, and two weeks later, it is announced they will print $100B a month into June, so what kind of BS is that from fed, they tell congress one thing, and a couple weeks later it is totally different story. lol

And I think that eventually the dollar will stabilize and grow .. and even though not the global financial crisis that began in the U.S. dollar remains the world currency

It seems the whole world is out to take the U.S.A. out of the equation. And we as the people are letting the Government get away with it.
Where is the unity of this great land? Where is the backbone of the people that think this Country is so great.
I was in the Service during the Viet-Nam crisis and proudly served my Country. I wouldn't do that again. it's just a land of cry babies and free loaders now. So much for the great nation.

Interesting,
Having followed world economics for years, at no other time was I more certain of the collapse of dollar than now. More and more experts are now admitting the same danger, and this video says it more clearly than most, it says it all, and why, so do yourself a favor and take the time to listen to it, and no, you don't have to purchase anything, but the advice is dead on.

Interesting,
It is always interesting to revisit threads like this to see who is right and who is wrong, and although I still believe U.S. dollar is worthless, now we are starting to see just how bad the worldwide economy is, and in many cases, most are now about to go under, so amazingly the dollar has firmed up due to the fear that EU may collapse before dollar, so now no one knows what currency is safe.
In my opinion, the Fed Reserve has underminded this whole collapse, with the focus on bringing down the U.S. dollar first, but it backfired, and now we have most of Europe about to go under, so which will be first, who knows, but given the Swiss franc was devalued to try and stabilize things, sorry, too little too late. We are all in for some very bad times economically, so hang on, but not to fiat currencies which are worthless in the real world, so silver and gold continues to be your best bet.
