i thought i read somewhere, that lower denominations were in the process of being printed, or have already been printed also coins have been minted. if this is not true, is that why they would even consider a "lop". so they can have lower denomination bills?.
they don't have to do a lop to have smaller denoms.Quote:

I thought most people agree that a lop would benefit no one, not the iraqis, and would be a waste of money (that we used to print this currency for them, btw.) Then again, what do I know. I don't have billions to throw away.
NO LOP! Inflation has dropped from 60%+ in January to 37% in February. If they lop, IMF, World Bank, and other nations will lose confidence in GoI. In the words of George H.W. Bush (via Dana Carvey) "Not gonna happen."
I understand all that - we've been through it countless times. I just wonder why it keeps rearing its ugly head. If I have to endure a discussion about it every 2 or 3 weeks, I'd like to know why. What do people think it would accomplish? It seems to me that a lot of people are just looking for ways they could prevent us from making money on this investment and they're raising issues like this without any real thought behind them.
Jean, imo most people have a negative bias. This is why one of the best times to buy stocks is when everyone else is selling. What I find hilarious is that anyone would invest in IQD, and then keep looking for reasons why it won't pan out! I suspect some have over-extended themselves and are facing financial ruin IF, and that's a big if, the IQD does not appreciate. :fryingpan I, for one, am enjoying this investment more than most because this is the closest to a sure thing I have seen in a long while imo.
feel free to correct me, but has the dinar raised in value since most of purchased it? if only by a couple of percentage points?
On the Central Bank of Iraq website they show pictures of all the Dinar bills and coins. There are 50, 250, 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000 & 25,000 Dinar bills.
There are 50 & 100 dinar coins.
