I didn't see a question. Nobody else seemed to either, as there has been no responces. Seems like with breaking informaition like

1:1 Each adult Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $10,000
1 IQD to .50 USD Each Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $5,000
1 IQD to .30 USD Each Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $3,000
1 IQD to .10 USD Each Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $1,000
1 IQD to .06 USD Each Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $600
1 IQD to .01 USD Each Iraqi gets 10,000 IQD worth $100

As some my know, I've just started with a new company a week ago. I just found out that one of my co-workers is an Iraqi. He has family in Iraq that also have a business.

I asked him what his thoughts were on the Dinar and he looked at me and laughed. He said "I hope you didn't buy any of that". When I asked him why, he said that it is worthless and that he just gave away - for free - several million.

I ask him if it was the old Saddam Dinar or the new and he said the new. I then asked why he didn't think anything was going to happen with it and he said - and I quote:

"Because the Dinar that it out right now is temporary". I then asked what did he mean? He said "The Dinar that is out is only so they can continue to do business for now. There is a new set of DInar in Switzerland that will come out when things settle down".

Now, I've only just meet him so I don't know how creditable he is yet but he said that he'll prove to me that it's worthless by giving me a couple million.

I'll try to find out more (and to see if he's pulling my leg) and as soon as I get more info I'll post it.

Keep in mind I'm on the Pacific Coast and I'm still at work (I don't get off till 9pm) so I'll only be able to reply sporadically so be patiant and I'll get back to and post if I get any more info soon.

Just what I was thinking, and besides, it is exchangable at Chase, never mind easy enough to sell, so who would be fool enough to just give it away?

I'm new in posting and do not mean to be rude. I do not have cites, but there has been so much focus in official circles on the 'stability of the currency' I cannot fathom such a counter-productive and destabilizing move as to 'Suprise' introduce a new currency.
