I asked him what his thoughts were on the Dinar and he looked at me and laughed. He said "I hope you didn't buy any of that". When I asked him why, he said that it is worthless and that he just gave away - for free - several million.

I ask him if it was the old Saddam Dinar or the new and he said the new. I then asked why he didn't think anything was going to happen with it and he said - and I quote:

"Because the Dinar that it out right now is temporary". I then asked what did he mean? He said "The Dinar that is out is only so they can continue to do business for now. There is a new set of DInar in Switzerland that will come out when things settle down".

Now, I've only just meet him so I don't know how creditable he is yet but he said that he'll prove to me that it's worthless by giving me a couple million.

I'll try to find out more (and to see if he's pulling my leg) and as soon as I get more info I'll post it.

Keep in mind I'm on the Pacific Coast and I'm still at work (I don't get off till 9pm) so I'll only be able to reply sporadically so be patiant and I'll get back to and post if I get any more info soon.

As far as him proving it, like I said, he told me he would GIVE me a couple million. If he does I can then see if they are the correct type of Dinar and see if what he's saying is true. I'm still scepticle because what he has been saying doen't mesh with what we've been finding in the news lately - We'll see soon enough I'm sure.

Even if he does give it to you, you need to look at it very closley. Why would anyone just give away what he could take to any Chase bank and turn in for cash. It seems he might have a screw or two loose, unless his product is counterfit!

On a side note obviously I'd love it to reval today but I do feel we're waiting on the Hydrocarbon Law. Terrific we now have the Territories Law as well. They really are on a roll!!! Hydrocarbon Law end of next week and we're home and dry.....

Also I notice the dreaded reprint and lop has been brought up again for FACKS SAKE. This is not an option. The IMF and World Bank would not support a lop. Iraq has to abide by the IMF and they have said no lop. A phone call was made to someone at the IMF who even stated it wouldn't happen.....

Iraq needs to control the inflation now, how long do you think a reprint and lop would take?! It doesn't serve any positive steps at all and would no give their people any more buying power which they need with this currency by way of a r/v. A reprint and lop would fack the US, UK and everyone else off who has forgiven debt. The US would pull out straight away and the results would be disastrous.

The Mof mentioned this back in the summer and it was poo pooed.

Conclusion:

There's more chance of Saddam Hussain running naked across the White House lawn shouting 'Im back in charge of Iraq' than there is of a reprint/lop.

NO worries fellow Texan - if the Big boys of Chase Bank has them for sale then they will not be changed any time soon. Do you think Chase will sale them and then they become no good? They would have ALOT OF PISSED OFF customers and their name would be MUD!!!

our currency is not worthless, this guy knows no more than us unless he has inside information which is highly unlikely. In fact this forum has pooled such a wealth of information we would all know if the currency was worthless thats why we are all still here. The banks are exchanging and selling dinar, that tells u it is not worthless. The value is low because of war, that is gonna change soon, do not worry.

Well my very first thought reading this was of the lower denominations. They are using the higher denominations now to do business and when the lower ones come out (from Switzerland) then the higher denominations will be fazed out. Just like we still have $500 $1000 etc.. but you never see them, doesn't mean they don't exist. They are used for the BIG TIMERS to handle LARGE transactions. Maybe your friend isn't aware of the lower denominations, just like we ourselves can find NOTHING about them. If thats the case then I can see how he would think the way he thinks. If I were you i'd say.............PROVE IT THEN!!!

Yeah, this is what i take of this all. That the larger denoms will faze out of circulation and be reserved for the big wigs. I do not think it is something to worry about. I think that the denoms that could be in switzerland are the smaller denoms (possibly the missing denoms) we are waiting to be put into circulation. The dinars are not worthless, you can retreive what you spent on it at its worse if not a couple hundred more. Tell your friend to send a couple million my way. I do not believe your friend is being totally honest about his giving away dinars unless he is not very smart in the noggin and even with this being said, i would not trust what he says anyway. He spent $1600.00 for a couple of million dinar so he can just give it away? Then he says he is going to give you a couple more million? That makes estimate of $3200.00 total he is throwing away? Besides, re-think something. There is way to much invested into this for them to turn around and do something foolish.
