Thought I read somewhere in this thread the Central Bank of Iraq's website is down? I thought I just was on it? Totally cofused, can anyone help my naieve self???

It was down for a few days and came back up again last week with an auction at the beginning of this past week (Sunday). The banks have been closed over there now since then with no auctions until reopening this coming week after their holiday is finished. So the speculation simply is that they are using this time to finish up some of their computer upgrades, get the lower denominations distributed and reval the currency!!! I hope that is what you wanted. If you want all the details and articles your goning to have to read all these older posts especially the archived posts.

Good news for you.
I came back to delete my post from the board but wanted to first stop in PM and let you know that the currency changer who gave me the information about the auctions before CBI came up was right. I have been in contact with him to thank him and he informed me that his location has been notified, (again by fax, sorry there's that fax again), that they should prepare to handle new fil coins and notes from Iraq.
I'm letting you know this because you were decent enough to respect my post and PM.
