They have agreed on an RV package, finally!!!!!!!!!

OK My brother has been in Iraq for 3 years. He started a business importing cars. He has many clients including a lot of Government people. These are people that he socializes with. They have told him that the announcement will be on November 21, 2006! They are going to RV the dinar at $ 3.41 and peg it to the euro. This is going to be a currency exchange after they delete four digits. 1 million dinars will be worth about $ 68.00 after conversion in Iraq. If you are an Iraqi citizen and have proof of income you will get 10 x that amount! So, this is the deal that has been worked out finally! Well no, it dose not look good at all! The good news though is that this thing is finally over!!!!

This would do no good at all, no increased buying power for the Iraqi's and all those out of the country would lose all faith in Iraqi currency, slowing investment in Iraq.

the math is all wrong, this is completely false. first of all how can you have a 4 zero lop with each dinar being worth $3.41 and end up with $68.00 per million? if it were going to be $68 per million that would indicate a 4 zero lop, but then if they were to value it at 3.41 per dinar, then you would have 68 x 3.41 and it doesn't say or show anything like this.

This statement just doesn't add up in my mind. No other country that I know of actually dictates what exchange rate you'll get depending on whether you are a citizen or not. That's just a guess on my part, though, so I acknowledge that I could be wrong on that (but I've certainly never heard of it). It just doesn't add up, and I'm gonna leave it at that.

It makes no sense at all! Let me get this straight. On November 21 the Dinar will be worth over TEN TIMES LESS than it is now? But If you're an Iraqi you'll get roughly what it's worth today?!

Chadm, my opinion as that you should be wary as to the validity of this post. Not because of the negative nature of the info, but because it contains all those elements of a "fact" that we would like to have. It addresses a DATE, an EXCHANGE RATE pegged to a main CURRENCY and gives us a HIGH RANKING SOURCE. Of course the caveat is that the info is conveniently unverifiable because it comes from a third party source. Oh, and don't forget the title "...R/V yeah!!!" (okay, I'm paraphrasing)

We've unfortunately seen this tactic before. It has all the ingredients, without any of the truth. I think that we will know when a good "leak" comes about. It won't be as detailed, but that little detail will be verifiable by news sources.

Look at everything being posted on this thread just today. There is no shortage of news or media coverage on the Iraqi government.

Thanks for the posting, but my advice is to be wary.

I totally agree...everybody calm down...these same kind of rumors (actually not even rumors....malicious intent to ruffle everybody's feathers) run rampant over at IIF...We all have been working very diligently posting the NEWS with links 24/7 and we know what has been done, what is being done and pretty much what the reval needs to come in at based on FACTUAL information. Sabotage posts are just like viruses and worms in a computer...their intent is to reak havoc. Hang in there everybody we know better....!

Iraq placed restrictions on automobile imports last year to control the car bombings and the rest of the post sounds like bs too.
After reading your post #480 I think you're the spammer that was PMing everyone with that GFF site.
