But someone will... its the Invisible Hand if you have ever read any economics.
Basically, there is no buzz on the street, or it would be happening automatically.

Someday check out Adam Smith... he has basically explained the economic theory that has been in operation in the capitalist world for the last 150 years or so.
Basically, its like arbitrage. If one market has one price that is wildly out of whack with another price SOMEONE will figure it out and profit from it.
The bigger the gap (.6 -> 1.68 is huge), the faster and more violently the correction will happen.
Nothing of the sort is going on. Its calm as a lazy summers day on ebay. Everything is stable with the currency right now. Its not a matter of individual greed, its that the MARKETPLACE has not moved.
Well, I am not trying to change your mind, you feel how you decide you want. I have felt the way I do since about last June and it is not going to change until the fat lady sings one way or the other. As far as those other countries, I haven't a clue. I don't think so in all reality, but you would have to talk to some of the folks here that are smarter about this stuff then I am.
? Do you know how Ebay works?
You can stop your auction anytime. and your only out a few bucks.
They know how Iraq works and how long it takes them to do anything they have a nice steady income and thay don't sell very large Sums and when you can get it like candy. whats a few million here or there
ebay is like a mini-forex. The traders aren't trading because they like giving out free candy at a massive loss. The traders are trading to maximize profit. At least some of them are. The fact that there is not a blip or an uptick in activity shows that there is no serious buzz on the ground about a $1.68 reval in less than 48 hours.
Rentonrlr Why are you posting in the Rumor area When What you say are facts? Wrong Thread!
With billions of dinar in volume and hundreds of auctions of dinar, its really hard to just discredit whats happening on ebay, to just dismiss it and say "oh yeah, all those people are wrong"...
Because they weren't wrong when the value of the Playstation 2 shot up due to scarcity and hype. They are never wrong as a community, they are a marketplace, and the marketplace is automatic.
Its really automatic. Its not about individual sellers emotional state. Its about the reality that when market conditions become dramatically different, a change in behavior can be observed in the markets.
No such change of behavior is happening. No such ripple. No such market activity.
Hey SGS, I know it is alot to ask with as much stuff going on as you do and folks always throwing questions at you. But could you possibly PM me any new info that you have. I will not ask you about your sources or pass the info on to anyone else. I would just like to know more without having to wade through 2-3 hours of silliness to find something. If you can that's great and I thank you in advance. If you can't, that's cool too, i understand.
this is so laughable im having a time typing here. do you have any concept of how to read a forex board or watch the stochastics of a currency trading?
your statements tell me you havent a clue or you would have seen whats been going on with the dinar since last october. silly wabbit, tricks are for kids.
All right...
Have fun at $1.68!!!!!!

LOL--This guy really enjoys pushing our buttons!! Check out his first post. He knew what kind of reaction he would get--cast the bait, set the hook reel 'em in ey? Spirited debate is one thing, but I'll tell ya, after reading his posts, I just get the feeling that he enjoys peein on our parade. Folks, we're not going to win with him. We're not going to agree to disagree, because IT WILL NEVER END. The last word will keep this annoying dialogue going and going...:fryingpan
*sigh* what to do...It's clear that he's not going to go anywhere as long as he's got someone to spar with sooo...where is it...oh yeah, there it is...the ignore button....yeah. So much better.:ro_emote:
Keepin the faith, OSWoman
I think we shouldn't respond to anything he/she posts. we have to but the fire out and stop fueling the flames. he's going to keep posting. if we don't say anything it will end leave the bate alone and you won't become dinner!
just a thought if he wants to act like a third grader he should be treated like one.
patience my boy... and go Renton Indians...
- That's just it! The MARKETPLACE has not moved - the pre-war value of the dinar was as high as $3.00. The low point never reached below .33 cents - it's true value during Saddam was estimated to be around 1.50 (to the USD) It makes NO SENSE for the currency to be valued at what it is NOW - Explain to me why it would not return to even the lowest of the pre-war levels. You can't tell me there is more chaos and more poverty and more sectarian violence in Iraq than there was before the war. You can't tell me they have fewer resources (they have MORE) . You can't tell me they have nothing to substantiate a rise! You can't tell me that countries aren't buying up dinar in large amounts to PURCHASE OIL, at which time that dinar goes right back into Iraq's economy. So . . .What is holding back the RV? Politics, bickering, GREED - positioning on the part of the different sects - Who knows? That's the million dollar question - however, your answers don't hold water! This thing is going to bust loose :flame: because ECONOMICS dictates that it can't be held back much longer . . . READ THE ARTICLES, DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Why is it that I here the same thing every month about the same time frame. I am not no nay say'r I bought some about 2 years ago. And I keep hearing It's going to hit the same time every months.
It truly amazes me, how stupid some people really can be.
Look at this dellboy fool, he thanks me for calling him stupid, Mods please ban this punk.
Okay...my turn to throw myself to the wolves...I have always said I have a gut FEELING that it is going to reval any day and I still do. I have nobody in the know, I do what most do I read the Arabic newsites, there are about 6 I hit all the time. SGS does her research but she has the advantage of some side information and that is great...it's a bonus. This is not the same "rumor" every month. Everything you are seeing, especially in the last 2 weeks, is documented meetings, signings, pacts, agreements...This is the real deal. The reason this has to reval by October 1 is documented that Iraqi's could lose funding from U.S. this is a U.S. set timeline...no secret source do the research...It's nice to have somebody on the inside or somebody who knows somebody but that is just icing on the cake...the cake is the hours of research...And I know SGS does her research because several times I went to post an article and I swear she posted it right before I did...she is like 3 steps ahead of me when new articles come out.
The other thing I would stress is that we are in unchartered territory here as far as Iraqi economy and there is a lot of speculative guessing going on but in the end Iraq will do what Iraq wants to do and they are not bound by the same rules of play as the U.S. or other countries...They have earned the right to make the rules since it is their playground.
Start looking forward, get excited, go count your dinar it is such a rush...positive energy is so much more productive. And yes, my gut feeling still tells me we are going to reval in the next day or 2....and I have known my gut for quite sometime and we have become quite attached LOL....That's my source....of course I am not taking any chances....I am not taking any superstitious chances either (just a little extra insurance, you never know).
So, let's all play nice because we are going to the MAJOR LEAGUES GUYS!!!
