TRUCKERS BOYCOTT BORDER STATES

President Bush displaces American truckers out of their jobs within 45 days with his Mexican trucker pilot program. Bush signed a bill that allows thousands of substandard 18 wheeler long haul rigs from Mexico onto America’s Interstate system. Mexican drivers, who can’t read, speak or understand English--receive full access to America’s highways.

Bush places all American motorists at risk with Mexican drivers with average 6th grade educations from a Third World country, gross incompetence and habitually drunk Mexican drivers as well as their unsafe trucks and trailers. Not only will American truckers lose their jobs, but American motorists become collateral damage in accidents guaranteed to occur.

Bush’s action mandates American truckers’ jobs vanishing with a new version of: “Mexican drivers do the jobs that American truckers won’t do.”

First, the independent haulers will see their loads undercut by Mexican drivers. Later, Mexican drivers will chip away at produce haulers. Given enough time, Wal-Mart, Roadway, Consolidated and Home Depot will hire Mexican drivers at half the wages of American truckers. Mexican truckers, ever looking for black market loads of people, drugs and products, will create new smuggling routes across the USA.

Given enough time, Bush will see to it that American trucking follows the auto industry, construction, drywall, painting, landscape and fast food industry—into the toilet.

Therefore, truckers from four border states—Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California--and beyond may participate in a trucker boycott April 23, 24, 25, 2007. Those truckers that want to stop this latest insult to America’s working class by this president may shut their rigs down for three days. Time to show Bush that truckers can paralyze this country in a matter of days if he continues on his national suicide mission of killing American truckers’ jobs. Additionally, truckers may surround all 48 state capitals with their rigs and park them! Mr. Bush, if you’re going to spit on American truckers, we’ll see who can spit into the next pasture!

Why do I know? I trucked for 21 summers and three solid years for United Van Lines, Consolidated and Single Source. I know the ultimate power of truckers. We deliver everything that Americans need on a daily basis: food, gas, lumber, cars, water, i.e., EVERYTHING! Mr. Bush, you won’t be able to wipe your butt without us delivering the Charmins!

As Wanda Piety at SaveAmericaFund.com said, “When Bush allows the Mexican truckers into the U.S., truckers will lose their futures, and it will seal the tragic fate of this country as we lose our sovereignty, Constitution and ultimately our governing body, liberties and freedoms.”

"Truck Out" points:

1. Bush is planning, in less than 45 days, to allow 17,000 or more Mexican trucks and truckers into our country with no checks and balances in place. Rigs will be allowed in with no weight regulations, no load restrictions (as their loads will not be under the same security scrutiny that our truckers’ loads have to comply to, which opens the door to more drugs, terrorists, weapons and human smuggling), some with no insurance in place, some truckers with no drivers licenses and criminal driving records, no background checks, and trucks that are not regulated to adhere to our strict safety regulations.

2. Once again the illegals will be given special treatment by our government, above that of our legal American citizens and legal immigrants, which allows them to break laws in our country that our truckers cannot get away with or their licenses would be pulled, their trucks impounded, and potentially criminally charged.

3. These truckers can haul for far less per load than our own truckers and will take their jobs. This is not a threat; it has been in the planning stages for several years now. American truckers will lose their jobs.

4. This constitutes a complete breakdown of the current trucking laws and regulations that govern our teamster truckers and Independent trucking organizations. This will work to destroy the truckers livelihoods and futures, as for many, this is all they have ever done.

5. We cannot allow this to happen, not even to test it. NAFTA is a failed international policy that has backfired on the U.S., and is driving our country into total ruin.

6. We invite our truckers to participate in a national "Truck Out" Boycott, on the 23-25 of April, to coincide with the Federation for American Immigration Reform: Welcome to FAIR! rally planned in Washington DC, the “Put Their Feet to the Fire Press Conference Rally.”

7. The point is to shut all trucking down and surround every capital in every state with a convoy of trucks, cars and motorcycles to protest the corrupt plans our government has to destroy our trucking industry, and our nation. This will, in turn, shut all industry dependent on the truckers down, as many of these industries employee illegals. This will show our government that we do have power and will exercise it, and will not tolerate their refusal to do the will of the legal American citizens and immigrants in this country. We are demanding NO amnesty for illegal aliens, an end to the socialist/fascist corruption in our government by our elected officials who refuse to uphold our laws, our Constitution, their oaths of office, and the people who voted them into office. We are their bosses and it's time for them to stop ignoring us, blatantly breaking our laws, and twisting the truth to suit their own nefarious agendas.

1, America cannot support another 100 million people added to our country in 34 years, i.e., water crisis, resource depletion, air pollution, gridlock, loss of quality of life, etc.

I want to thank Frosty for this article. However, as an X-Owner Operator who struggled for years with no chance of getting ahead, I am at a quandry why Frosty has not mentioned the Total De Regulation of the Transportation Industry in 1980 with no protection for bottom end freight rates and inflation. Today, most adds for recruiting owner operators reflect 1980 freight rates and all they receive to help deliver the freight is compensation for increased fuel costs.

I hope the American Truckers take this boycott to heart and shut down for three days. They need to shut down this whole country for three days to get the attention of Congress and a partial re-regulation needs to placed in effect to protect the trucking industry.

Complacency and Apathy around the world is part of the reason for growing Socialism. Socialism is when people figure out they can get free money from the coffers of Government. What Free Money? Someone is paying the bill!

Could it be you and I?

Believe it or not, when such a vital part of a national industry is sick, it has a great effect on many other parts of industry and society. Government Representatives have a responsibility to protect against Capitalism three Cancers: Greed, Graft and Corruption.

Representatives have a further responsibility to protect from Capitalisms three dangers; Communism, Socialism, and Social Dependency or what I call Jobism. Jobs only provide bread and butter income. If one has a dream, then participation in that dream is essential to give it a chance to become reality.

I am ready to travel to speak to any group who proves to be serious about changes. I was forced out of the Trucking industry or go bust three and a half years ago. Of course I could have moved to another company and struggled until they made poor decisions as most do, but I walked away. Do I miss it? Yes! But, like I said, there was no reason to look back once I crossed the bridge.

However, I know I have much to give to those who want to learn. Capitalism is the name of the game. For those who don't understand:

Business is the provision of goods or services to a consumer market.
Capitalism is the exchange of wealth for wealth and profit; as long as it is not sicked by greed, graft and corruption.

Thanks Lucky142 I enjoyed reading your post. I know exactly when you are saying. I am an owner operator and going more broke everyday. I am ret. military. I've been in the business for 12 years and this year is by far the worst year I have had so far. I am considering selling my Truck and getting out of this mess. Let the mexicans have it. It is impossible to get the attention of all the truckers in this country to shut down for one minute little alone 3 days. We really need to send a message not just to the Bush Clan but to everybody in this Country. The owner-operator is one the most powerful groups of unrecongised people in this country. We have the power to shut this country down and maybe the World, but we don't use it. Everything that everybody uses is brought to them by trucks. Its such ashame we are treated like trash. Right now the trucking industry is in bad shape espically here in Jacksonville. We have several trucking companies that have gone out of business because there is no frieght. Everything in this country has been out sourced so nothing is made here anymore. The economy is broken. People and companies are no buying very much. The freight that we pull here in Jacksonville is dependent on Puerto Rico and they have been bankrupt since last year. They are not buying or shipping very much from the USA. We are now seeing several shipping companies about to go under, so at this point I would do good just getting out of the trucking industry. The problem is I dont know what I would do. I'm 60 years old and no one except maybe Wal-Mart is going to hire me and I can't live off minimum wage. I would enjoy talking to you sometime about all of the above. Gator

The reason American Truckers won't do those jobs is because the companies that are moving the freight are trying to break the backs of the American Trucker by paying less to move the freight so much so the American trucker would go broke moving it. I spend on an average of about 400.00 a week just in fuel and I don't run the road, just the city. Bottom line is money and if these so called American companies won't support American people, Truckers, and will sell out to the Mexicans then it won't be long before the this Country go into the drink.

It sure is a tough business and yes, people want you to haul their freight for free by the time you add up all of the costs involved. We run specialized equipment and some of the rates people offer are no where near where they should be. Grossing 120,000 pounds, they think you should do it for a rate of $2.00 per mile, plus buy your permits out of that. I'll let them come take everything back before we run for that. I spot bid freight for the government and I swear the jerks that actually get the freight must be on something. $1.66 per mile to go across the country, plus buy all of the permits for the load. Shame on those people that don't have a clue.

Everyone that brokers freight should have to own a truck and see what it is like to have to scramble to pay the bills and eat every month. If I wasn't dispatching trucks that I don't own, we'd already be homeless.

The average truck driver (owner operator) has no idea how to run a business. That expensive equipment they purchase to go out and make their millions ends up being assets provided for the other person to make money with. I for one, never drove a new truck because I could not see the profits from being an asset provider.

I made some good money sometimes, but all to often it was eaten up with costly repairs and unforeseen expenses. It amazes me that people don't know the history and the fact rates were quite often $4 to $5 per mile in 1980, unless you were leased on. Independents made the best, as long as they had their stuff together.

Mexicans doing jobs American's won't do!

Well, I have known many teenagers looking for work (any work) and can't get it or cant find it.

Why? Because it is illegal for them work until they are 16 and at 16 there are no jobs for most of them because of illegal immigrants.

But the facts are, even to high someone to cut your grass every week you are responsible for employee taxes, and all the other garbage placed on the shoulders of employers.

When I was a young lad of 12, I started working on a ranch and a farm part time. I was well supervised, but there was work I could do and I enjoyed it. At 12 it did not pay much, but I didn't care; I just enjoyed being out there. Later when I was on an hourly wage, it still did not pay much but it was fun and it paid for part of my school clothes and entertainment.

Today, kids don't have that and it is because of laws we have passed to make it impossible to hire teenagers under 16 and there are not enough jobs in town to hire all the kids looking for work.

Illegal immigrants have taken a lot out of our country, but and Inept and irresponsible Government; from City, County, State up to Federal Government; all have kept a blind eye to the illegal immigrants living in our communities; even among many citizen complaints. Why?

Jobs would have to pay more to US Citizens as well as benefits and with illegals, many employers could get away without paying benefits or reporting employees; falsifying employment records, and giving kickbacks to those who aided them in this fraud against the Governments of this country and our people.

Top all of this off with all the untaxed money that goes south of the border to support Mexico, and we have a very serious problem.

Yes, the American Truckers have a major problem, but it does not come from Mexico; the problems come from Washington DC and the fact most truckers are so blind they don't want to look at ways to get out of debt and save themselves financially.

Just a $12 per month purchase could give truckers and anyone else an income that would choke a horse and yet, because it is Multi Level (Management) they won't participate.

Now, from what I am told, the Mexican drivers do not want to run the United States and Canada. The permits to run a truck in the US alone are $12,000 per year and Mexican drivers can earn more money and have less expenses by working the border only. They don't want change.

Again, the problems we face are not the Mexican Truck Drivers. The problems we face are within ourselves and Washington DC.

Re regulation of protection that covers bottom end freight rates and the elimination of the Payment system used (the House Hold Movers Guide) would be a great plus is turning things around in this country. Likewise we need labor protection for drivers and owner operators to keep them from being taken advantage of by unscrupulous corporations who force them to work on docks at no pay and hold them up for hours getting loaded and unloaded with no pay.

I just wonder how many drivers would spend $12 per month on themselves and promote this to other drivers.

Don't ask me what for or what on, just let me hear from you and perhaps I will take some time to help out. However, if there are not enough people willing to take their lives into their own hands in a Capitalist Free Enterprise world, then, "don't wast my time" as time is not what I have.
