Default My Meeting with Bank Negara

I am very interested in the future of Pips, or more particularly Picpay as I had something in the vicinity of $200,000.00 owing to me at the time the Malaysian Central Bank stepped in. My account was on 100% withdrawal at the time, so it might be interesting to know exactly how much I might be owed now.

I’ve been following the development of Bryan’s latest offering of HALOTTO with some interest, unsure whether it was the first step in recovering my Picpay account or whether there was some other ulterior motive. There has been much discussion about the merits of this program and its legitimacy. I was very surprised to see it commence while Pips and the Marsden’s are still subject to an ongoing investigation by Bank Negara. Bryan has gone to some considerable lengths to satisfy everyone that the program was supported by way of a license that was registered in a little known and obscure place called Anjouan for Pipsaid and that it was all approved by Bank Negara. There have been others that have stated that they have contacted the Anjouan authorities who have said they know nothing of Bryan and Sharon Marsden nor Pipsaid or HALotto.

As circumstance would have it, I had cause to be in Malaysia recently and thought while I was there I’d attempt to visit the people at Bank Negara. I was pleasantly surprised to find the chief inspector and his senior assistant, who are investigating Pips were very gracious with their time and gave what information they could, given that the investigation is still proceeding. I do not propose nor will I discuss the matters disclosed at that meeting in relation to Pips and Picpay on this forum.

I also took the opportunity to discuss HALOTTO. Both the inspector and his assistant were most surprised to learn that Mr. Marsden had started up yet another internet program and seemed to be somewhat concerned about this ‘development’. They were able to confirm that they have not been approached by Mr. Marsden about this new venture and they did not seem to be much impressed with the fact that he was back in business on the internet in this way.

They were able to confirm that they knew nothing of any Licence in Anjouan for Pipsaid or HALotto.

Needless to say they will be ‘looking into it’ and needless to say I will be staying away from it.

I have posted this on several forums purely for information purposes only and I will not enter into any dialog with anyone about this matter.

    Hey Cyber101

Yeah I had heard the same thing. I would stay away from HA lotto. Obviously Bank Negara does not know about it and Bryan essentially did not go to them as he said he did. I have heard this before but I dont know if it was from you being the source on other forums. I wouldnt expect your payout from your Picpay account. I bet we dont really even get our initial investments back.....

    Hi Pippyman,

Thanks but no thanks. When you have something which you feel you cannot tell, don't start any threads.

If there is anything new from your meeting you made public, then, it should be shared. Most of the original members are in the same boat.

I went to Malaysia which is only a 20 hour flight from where I live to get me a loaf of bread and a sack of nuts. I happen to stumble across BNM and found the inspector general president wating for me in the lobby. He said "Where the hell were you!!" and I said "Hey, I just finished a 20 hour flight a week ago and now you have the audacity to call me on that!? Bye bye hombre!". So I walked out only to hear him yell "Wait, wait i've got some juice dish on the picpay case!". I said "Okay, whatever man". He said "I didn't know about the HALOTTO stuff I swear man". I said "I didn't ask, now get out of my sight, I'm here to buy me some nuts and not talk to squirels".
That's my story. Oh and he also said something about the investigation but I had already stopped listening.

Yea I'm sure its people like this cyber101, who have helped bring down PIPS. Maybe not on purpose but by their stupid ways of sticking their nose in business they should stay out of. Crying about his $XXXXXX.XX pending wd. Some people just will never learn to keep out of things you have no business trying to get involved. If it would help pips to have memeber contact this bank I'm also sure Bryan would of asked us to do it. I remember he did ask us NOT to. So anyone who has only hurt pips. Let me be the first to thank cyber101 and all the people like him for there most helpfull actions.

    Nicely put Boink!

I am reminded of what I wrote two weeks ago with particular reference to big egos! BTW Anjouan is indeed a small island in the Indian Ocean with a smaller population than the Pips membership. It seems to be in the middle of a civil war and hardly seems to be a likely candidate for issuing licenses for anything at the moment. Perhaps the Bank official meant Labuan but got in a muddle with his spelling!

    Quote:

"Don't forget that people with an overinflated sense of their own importance tend to paste themselves into corners with their own boasts and the lies get bigger as their claims become more unbelievable .

Even if anyone DID get to speak to the Director of BN do you really think he would be told anything that had not already been released in an official statement?

Bryan has already said that he will let us know when there is some news. Until then we have to wait patiently.

The only other course is to continue to massage some of these big egos by promoting their preposterous fabrications.

This is a serious matter and the last person to trivialise it with off the record comments to some non-entity walking in off the street would be the Bank Director himself.

There are formalities that govern the way these procedures are undertaken and I beg to suggest that the BN are extremely professional in the way they conduct themselves.

They will publish the results of the investigation when it is over and not before.

No viable option to waiting it out I am afraid however frustrating that may be to all of us,"

    End Quote

    No need to say more

    Michael

    "Preservation of secrecy.
    16. Without prejudice to section 16A, except for the purpose of the performance of his duties or the excercise of his functions or when lawfully required to do so by any court or under any law, no director, officer, or employee of the Bank, shall disclose to any person any information relating to the affairs of the Central Bank or of a banking institution or other financial institution or of a customer of the Central Bank or of a banking institution or other financial institution which he has acquired in the performance of his duties or the exercise of his functions.

This is from the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 1958 (Revised 1994)"

Obviously someone doesn't care about their job in the Bank...

Not at all. The bank are prepared to discuss matters with anyone they consider to be properly qualified. I am a researcher for a firm of investment managers and have been able to have a very profitable conversation with Bank Negara.
None of this information would be palatable to any Pipsters I'm afraid.
Cyber 101 is absolutely correct. Bank Negara had no knowledge of the HA Lotto caper until recently. Just chalk it up to another of Marsden's joustings with the truth.

Please read the Act then explain how you fit into its parameters please as your statement is in direct contradiction to how the Act reads!
