Back in 2004 again.
When Picpay first came onto the scene, they offered all signees a $5 bonus.
A FACT.
Where did those dollars come from?
That year was quite hectic although we did suffer several downtime periods.
One particular event stands out when the database was lost or I should say corrupted. I cannot remember all the details now, but I think we had no access for 2 weeks, maybe longer, however our ROI was unaffected.
Another occassion was a fire that lost our continuity for several days.
The year also saw the installation of new servers with more downtime, the MLM aspect of PIPs stopped and a revamp of the members back office.
Both conventions, 2004/2005 could be pre-booked and deposits activated with Picpay dollars from within your own back office, the outstanding balance, once confirmed, settled with Picpay dollars again.
I remember as 2004 drew to a close, PIPs were already expanding their operations, the speedywallet debitcard was working fine, PIPsrealty was practically ready to launch, the 5 year plan was running.
DBR were the first group to launch the 3% pooled fund idea. I sent funds to that one in November and the programme closed in mid Dec to new deposits.
For those members who know nothing about these pools, (we had several running at one time), the idea was to grow $1M in a central PIPs account.
If you wanted a share or several you could invest $1000/share via Picpay.
The pooled dollars then were invested into this dedicated PIPs account.
Bryan, at the 2004 convention outlined where one could invest $1M or more, and receive $6M plus initial deposit= $7M (a compounded growth of 3% per trading day), after one year. He never gave the go ahead for this pooling of funds but nevertheless they happened. It was not only for the 3% investment that pools were formed. One or two had real estate as the objective, and I do believe a luxury liner was talked about at some point by one group :)
The end of 2004 saw lots of bad dollars floating about.
Credit card fraud was making access for honest CC users to obtain a PIPs membership difficult. An e-currency exchange platform was allowed on the PIPs forum for members to buy and exchange Picpay dollars for e-gold and othe e-currencies. Big problem here with the PIPs forum open to just anyone, not only the members, and it was,nt very long before the whole thing was banned from the forum. It went underground but the damage had already been done.
Another nightmare for Picpay to sort out, tracing the path of specific bad transfers in from account to account, sometime into innocent members accounts who found themselves frozen out of Picpay, even had accounts lost to them. Some periods saw a whole block of Picpay accounts inaccessable whilst an audit took place,
Only one e-currency trader had access to trade with the members but even that went sour and was lost.
later then......E&O A

I believe the 1.85% is applied to the dollar value and not the number of units. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Nope, not banned. I am just reading and learning, Never too old to learn..
Happy Easter to all who celebrate it. To those who dont, hope you all have a nice weekend just the same.
Keep going everyone, I am enjoying this thread.

well i put in ca. $30 000.
Indeed, that's a much larger amount than what I put in.. I just hope you were able to get some, if not all of it out before the withdrawal problems.
