Default Fairy Tales and Fables and What the Cat Saw

Just fair warning to all of you...............

It is not very amusing to see those having "fun" at the expense of another, or out of spite. What is missing from most of the arguments and apologies that all of you are reading is a spirit of true Renaissance, and of calm, reflective meditation. I do not speak of the Eastern Meditative arts, although they merit much in the way of research and attention, not to mention that many of you could do with a few minutes in your inner sanctums, but I speak of the spirit that lies within the yearling, within the young heart, yearning to fly, wishing to run free.

There are many Fairy Tales and Fables to be found out and about in this world, and faith has no business in a rational model; or is there room afterall?

The Cat saw many things, and has dismissed them all, save a very few. Statistically, if I were to tell you I have seen a UFO, 25% would believe me without reserve. 70% would demand proof, and the other 5% would shake their heads and walk away. What I say to you is this:

Shake your heads, walk away. What is yours is still yours, if you don't give it away or lose it. There is nothing gained by threats and rumors. You are believing without seeing, without thinking. You are acting on the whim of another. If a dog continues to chase after cars, sooner or later it WILL get run over. Stop chasing cars, stop searching for rainbows. They are there. They will come, and they will go. Yet they remain. Suing the leprechauns won't make them any brighter, or make them any larger. The rainbow still returns.

Que sara, sara. Be like the Cat. They don't do much and they still get theirs. Some have been known to catch rats, but that is a merely bonus. A purring cat will get cream long before a nervous one.

I say to you that Logic AND Faith are compatible, and do quite well within the Rational Model. Use your own logic, your own faith, your own rational model. Bowing to the whims and non-sensical whining of the 70% won't get you the cream.

Sleep in the sun. Play like you mean it. If you hear a thing long enough and loud enough, you begin to believe it. Fairytales and Fables are not a thing to take lightly, and deserve the closest scrutiny. Ask yourself who stands to gain?

    There will be more......................................

    Don't worry mouse.........

Recently, a shining example of what a deliberate mind can do to the masses was displayed on a very public forum. Fairy Tales and Fables are generally written for entertainment and/or teaching (lessons) purposes. However, there are those stories which seem to be true, considering the sheer volume of "facts" and the predisposition of readers to assume a course of action. We have seen this first hand in many forums, and now in book form.

Do you not think it curious that a certain media mogul was so easily taken in by an autobiography that was more about ego than experience? Do you not think it equally curious that so many were quick to defend the same? That is, until all the "facts" came out. Lessons here, my friends.

It is also quite disconcerting to see a long time member of Congress, pounding on the pulpit, preaching "facts" regarding a certain issue, and, when told that the "facts" were indeed false and misleading said "....it doesn't matter. It COULD have happened that way....." (emphasis added by author). Another lesson.

Ask this question of yourselves. Why did I get involved? What was MY motivation? Once you have answered that, then move on to asking who has the most to gain and who has the most to lose. I cannot for one moment believe that ANYONE would want to see a program such as this fail. Who, other than a raving, masochistic egomaniac would NOT want to participate in something like this. It would be like diving to the bottom of the ocean, and, when your air ran out, refusing any more. So now the question becomes "Why do [they] not want it to succeed?" Answer that, and you ahead in the game.

I will end this little segment with a quote from Mark Twain:

Honesty is the best policy, when there is money in it

Is no news dishonest? Look at Enron. Glowing reports and rising stock. IF this was as bad as some Fable writers would have you believe, don't you think it the fan would have flung (it) far and wide? Where are the original "soothsayers"? Where are the original "management" members? They were quite visible and quite vocal months ago. Not a peep since then. Guess the Cat got their tongue.

Speaking of which, can anyone tell me what the Cat saw?

.....Don't know if I'm finished here............

    Arcturus,
Your wisdom and insight is, in my opinion, infallable. As to where the original "management" members are, I have wondered this same thing myself, and I believe I have a pretty good idea. Just waiting until Bryan is able to give us the details in order to know whether I was close to accurate or not. I look forward to meeting you after this is over and the new program is back. What a celebration for all of the faithful and pure of heart/motive that will be.

    God bless us all,

.......and look what the Cat dragged in..................

We have spent time, friends, on how perception guides the mind to conclusion, and how it can be easily misdirected by those with an agenda that is not simply contrary; it is sinister. Many here, much more eloquent than I, have pointed this out in various ways, using various examples (SoulSurfer - Largo is using real world examples to drive home his point, most get it. It is not hypocratic, in my eyes, though your observation is valid and merits discussion with the moderators). Viewpoints and opinions are healthy and necessary for knowledge, and the retention of such, but self promotion and intentional deception can only destroy independant thought. THAT, dear friends, is the driving force behind Totalitarianism and Oppression.

I mentioned earlier that perharps the Cat was busy collecting tongues; I guess what I really should have stated was that I don't think it was the Cat. I think it was something more pervasive. [And, yes, I use that word intentionally - think about it] And what of the others? Well, we have witnessed first hand on this forum what happens when one abuses position, abuses trust, and fails to recognize the basic tendancies of human nature, all the while tripping over themselves in order to be heard. And what are they saying? Is it of value to the greater good? And then, there are other forums that, upon cursory inspection, could be used to signify an example of looking into the maw of hell.

So what does a Cat do, then. It sleeps in the sun, it craps in a box (except for that once a month behind the couch -- just to see if you clean thoroughly), it eats, sheds all over............did I mention I hate Cats? Unfortunately, they are a very good example of what should be taking place. Dogs will believe anything, and will do whatever they think you want. Just try the "hidden ball" trick. But Cats, they'll look at you, lick their left paw (more often than not, interesting factoid - does this mean they are left pawed or right brained?????), and then walk away and knock something off the piano. Of course, that's right after they rub up against you and purr to keep you from kicking them to the curb.

You have been asked to be patient. You have been asked to be silent (in regards to the rumors of investigation, etc.). You have been practically begged to shy away from those who pronounce doom AND from those who promise the map to Eden. I will impart here some facts for your consideration. These facts CANNOT be disputed, since they are all absolutely true. Debate if you wish, at your expense, but you still cannot refute them.

FACT: I don't know what you know (or think you know, or don't know)
FACT: You don't know what I know
FACT: Neither of us knows what Bryan knows; or what BN really knows,
is up to, is talking to, is chasing......
FACT: Nothing you or I do will hasten the return of the program
FACT: A certain author put his horse, well, several miles before his cart
(assuming there is a cart at all)
FACT: Anyone claiming to know the truth here does not, those who DO
    know aren't saying a thing
FACT: Single Malt Scotch should be one of the major food groups

(Sorry, had to throw that last one in to see if you were still awake)

And so, friends, I will end this little tale. Considering that no one can tell me what the Cat saw, I will tell you this: Be like the Cat but remember it's bane. Seek the truth in everything. Do not submit to my words or the words of those around you. It isn't about how much was loaned, owed, made or lost. It is about what was, is and will be. Time to lay in the sun and catch a little Z (oh, and I suppose we should get back to work for those who must).

I leave you with two parting shots:

"Don't sweat the little things; and remember it's ALL little things." (Apologies to the moderators and those who are sensitive, but it is a direct quote. Apology accepted but text still edited...EW)

    -AND-

If it is dead and gone, and there is nothing left, why are so many fighting for it?

    Thanks Arcturus...
    ...for the story...
I didn't know that a cat could tell a tale (or was it TAIL?)
    Anyhow...
...hope you'll present some more stories that reflect the current situation in such a unique style as this one.

    Thanks again...
