    Default Lotto Legal Issues

    To those who keep putting forward their interpretations of US law on gambling (it is for physical gambling, not online). There are two alternatives here;

    1. To leave you with the personal choice of whether you participate or not.

    OR

    2. I simply BAN ALL US citizens from playing, period. (not likely to happen)

But please, I think the posts on this subject have been flogged to death here and still coming up with so many contradictions in legislation.

Thought I would also add this quote from the terms and conditions on the website, which basically means you need to do your own dd on the legality of you participating and the responsibility on participating is yours, not the companies, we are licensed to do what we do with the lotto online.

LEGALITY. It may not be lawful for citizens or residents of some Countries or States to become a member or participate in Lotteries. Each person or entity wishing to become a member should first obtain specialist legal advice in relation to their legal capacity to join as member or play the lotto. All Members must be of legal working age in the State or Country in which they reside.

    Hey Bryan

Well I still plan on playing whether "they" would like it or not. I may not do the referral system. But how about some qoutes on how I feel about it....

    Thanks Bryan.

    JUST AN IDEA:
Some people says they cannot participate because it is "against their etics". I believe they maybe are thinking of all those who loose their money and have serious depts because they are playing too much. Loosing more money than they can afford to loose. That kind og gambling is of course no good for anyone. But Pips Aid is miles and miles away from that kind of gambling.

So saying no to Lotto is not a legal issue for them, but feelings about what is right and wrong, and what their conscience tells them.

In general all Games sites says : Play play play! And only concern about legal issue (which you have taken very good care of already.) Noone can misunderstand what you have written, the responsability is ours.

But what if you add something about the moral issus too? Don't donate to Lotto/play for more money than you can afford to give/loose. Then noone can blame Pips Aid, nor for legal or moral issues.

To me I can choose between donate to Red Cross, donate to Pips Aid or play Lotto. $3 a week is not much.
(I will not loose nor my job or life because of that!)

If I donate directly, I'll never see the money again. So they are really "lost" anyway. If I donate through Pips Aid (to me playing Lotto in Pips Aid is not gambling, but still donation), I can even help more people and myself too.

I think the Affiliate program is a very good idea. It is about: "Helping yourself and others at the same time". And we can reach out and help so many more.

Thats why I think it is really sad that classical Gambling, where people have the possability to play too much and loose a lot, shall be "mixed up" with Pips Aid. It is not two of a kind. Their different!

If it's written clearly that noone shall invest more then they can afford to loose, maybe it wouldn't feel so bad for those who feel they cannot participate now?

Thumbs up Bryan, I'm sure you wouldn't want yourself or us to do anything illegal, so

can you give a straight yes or no answer please to this question:

in your opinion, can any US citizen (of legal age) buy tickets in your new on-line lottery without breaking any US laws?

    thanks.

I just want to jump in here and say that I clearly remember an article in Time or Newsweek from several months ago that was all about online gambling. A major point of the article was that because of the huge interest and participation in online gambling, there was no serious attempt to enforce any U.S. laws that restricted Americans from participating.

Bryan has clearly made a statement about Pipsaid's legal standing. That is all he is responsible for.

If you are an American, and this worries you....don't play.

Thats fine.......Give what is happening over here now with the different PIPS members being questioned by authorities about their involvement in a PONZI scheme..also members being sent letters from debt collectors because newer members want their money back......and nothing from Bryan or the company to help them fight off these allegations.....I remain against this lottery program being brought back at this point......because of the legal issues that could be involved.....

as I have stated before....loose ends that are left from PIPS disappearing need to be tied up first....there are members who could be facing bankrupcy
because of the legal battles that they are left to face alone...........

The question was raised on the UK forum who'd be up for getting involved in this and there was a comprehensive vote against it. People on there want to see their money back from P**s before getting involved in anything else. Can understand that.

Personally I'm not against this but I won't be participating in it either.

This world can get fuzzy at times for those that sought it looking like one....

Why some have an awesome crawl in understanding truly beats me too... Bryan has laid down the options... pure OPTIONS....!

You take it as it comes or do some serious DD before you are game & set to decide responsibly... no fault at that.

The bottomline is, Take it or LEAVE IT... gamble or play just your pennies worth...whatever, but don't try make him looking like the devil with a halo....heyyy, he's doing whatever he can from a seat feeling "cuffed" just so that idle time is well spent and in the meantime, ways are thought of to be productive and to get the spinning wheel rolling...., somehow, he's doing ALL he can in the meantime!

If your State or religion forbids you, DON'T play or participate, it's a real world out there... now throw that dice and make up your minds, go ahead Bryan, U're beating your butts just to make a bet beat ya blue... thanks for some (...shall I or shall I NOT...hmmm, SHALL I or NOT???) idling only in the queue.

    Interesting,

As Bryan stated, check with your own regulations, and if you can figure out what they are saying, then you are indeed a very lucky person, so I think you should be playing Lotto for no doubt you have better odds than all us unlucky soles. LOL

All regulations I have read state it is based on an actual lotto ticket, physical records, as in charts, as the old time bookies ran, not virtual tickets online. And besides, as Caroline mentioned, prosecution is impossible to enforce, so why worry?

    Good luck to all, Mike
