Just thought I would ask. I am sure that many have wondered about it.
I reallize that the new lotto program is NOT a scheme. But, it also says that US citizens shouldn't participate in any foreign lotteries.

This material includes letters or circulars concerning a lottery, tickets in a lottery, and payments to purchase such tickets"
Whats missing out of this statement????

I totally intend to participate in this 100% myself...as long as it is legal "for me" to do so. Dont get me wrong...............I want in on this as bad as the next person.............I WANT MY PIECE OF THIS PIE too you know.
But only if it is legal "for me" to do so.
From what I am seeing is that we have a lot of contradictions in the different articles we have found...........I take that as a good sign. I havent really found anything definitive confirming it is illegal............so thats a plus to me!Last edited by Style; 10-12-2005 at 09:39 AM.

I intend to participate as well unless I can get a 100% confirmation (from someone who honestly knows) that it is illegal.........which doesnt look to me like anything is definitive. You would think when it comes to the law that we could get a straight answer in "one" areticle somewhere......LOL.............but thats our wonderful government here......but anyway what I am seeing in the articles so far seems to be a lot of opinions and no facts and to me thats a good sign.
I mean if you look up "robbery" or "burglary" or "DUI" they are all definitve about being illegal...........this one just gives a lot of conjecture.
I was up until 4:30 this morning searching and couldnt come up with a definite answer............................................
so......................I take that as a very big + sign!

In Sweden recently, you could start your own LOTTERY type of program...
BEFORE this...ONLY the State could do this....and by the STATE, I mean the GOVERNMENT of SWEDEN, Not just a Region as in the US...
Anyhow...The lottery I'm talking about here is a lottery in wich you as a participant can WIN a certain amount of money EVERY MONTH for a certain amount of years...So let's say that you win about $3000.00 per month for 25 years...you have to pay tax on this....
ONE person contacted the Tax authorities about this...because he WON in this lottery...THE ANSWER...he had to pay the FULL taxes on this (25 years of $3000.00 a month) to the amount of 30% of the WHOLE...AND...pay it NOW!!!....go figure...BUT, the INTERESTING part of this is...There have been THOUSANDS of winners in this lottery since then...AND NO-ONE have been URGED to pay ANYTHING....
SO...the WISDOM o f this is...
Pipsology Lesson # 23
DON'T give MORE INFORMATION to the authorities as needed, until ASKED FOR...
Just a Thought...

But like I said.............there is just too much contradiction for me. If they want laws to be followed then by damn they need to make them clear.
SO..............I am IN!
