Just an observation and a couple of question.

I don't wish to argue the merits or otherwise of the new Pipsaid Lotto program. It is, and will be up to the individual members as to whether they participate.

How ever, I really feel it smacks of hypocracy for people to say they won't participate because they don't gamble.

What did they think they were doing when they joined PIPs?

Were they guaranteed they would make money?...Don't think so... Were they not warned? that.... "You should not invest more than you can afford to lose."

In my book every member who has joined PIPs or any other similar program has taken a gamble. We will just have to wait to see if it pays off...

I am sorry to say that you in principle have a wrong definition and understanding of the difference between an investment and gambling!....but in the day-to-day conversations, some or most people would perhaps say that placing all your savings in PIPS would be a gamble!...

Now, PIPS promised to pay ROL; which means that you would enjoy a daily return on your investment or loan. That is per definition an investment.
If you lose your money in PIPS or any other financial investment like stocks or forex, that is considered a loss! ....the higher the risks the higher the profit/loss is the general lesson in financial investments. PIPS was a very high risk investment,...but not a gamble!

Gambling never promise any ROI or ROL, ...period!

I don't remember the 3% pool ever being a Pips-sanctioned program. I know there were some "higher-ups" in Pips leading the charge but I don't remember BM specifically backing or guaranteeing it.

They simply pooled money that would in time, when the 3% program launched, be put in that.

It never came that far so nobody has invested in The 3% Program.

I agree, the 3% deal never happened, we only heard of it in Vegas and nothing more. Those who put money into pool did so with no assurance that 3% would ever happen. PIPS certainly didn't offer up any document that assured this investment as risk free, at least none that I ever saw. It was a whim, not a reality, barely mentioned by Bryan in Vegas, so how can anyone say it was anthing more than a pool of hopes and dreams. Sadly, many did put in cash, so I feel for those poor people for they may never see their money if DBR is prosecuted as charged.

I saw PIPS as being far from a gamble...as do most people. Here is a copy of the PIPS website:

Investment Programs
4.0 Each of the investment programs as listed on the site shall return the members initial deposit plus profits/loss on the date of maturity.

4.1 The single exception to this shall be the guaranteed minimum return program which will return a minimum of 2% per trading day for a investment period of 180 days after which time the investment expires, the initial capital investment shall be repaid to the member over the first 50 days in the program after which time all revenue will be profits.

Does this sound like a gamble to you? I believe I do see the word GUARANTEED and REPAYMENT in there. How about you Dadakool? I didn't make up these promises...this is straight off the pipsinc website. People want to have faith in others. When someone says "guaranteed" we all want to believe that they are being truthful...otherwise we might as well erase the word from the dictionary. I for one still believe Bryan will come through for us...maybe not on the timeline he promised, but hopefully sooner than later.

Exactly! And if I may add, once our $ was in available funds/Picpay it was no longer a risk at all....

I should probably keep out of this debate as it seems that even the slightest hint that anyone is unhappy or disconcerted they are immediately classed as trolls.

I like 1000's, I am sure, looked to the PIPS program and Bryan as CEO as a real breath of fresh air in the midst of scam after scam, and felt that to particpate in the program was a way of achieving long past dreams of security, support for our families and, probably most important, a rock to grasp as we entered retirement for whatever reason, illness, age, or redundancy.

It wasn't a gamble, it was an investment for our future. We all know that investments can fail and this is the risk that we take, but this has not failed, it has just ceased operating. It is possible to achieve a 2% ROI with managed investment, and the greater the investment fund, the easier the achievement of 2% becomes.

Get real. If you had an investment fund of in excess of $1m do you not think that you could achieve a 2% returm ?

Of course you could. Even using arbitrage betting, returns at this level are more than possible.

The problem is that as individuals we don't have $1m, but as a total membership.....................................
