If I were under a scrutinizing investigation of this depth and nature, I would want good legal representation as soon as possible. Unfortunately, in the legal system there is what's right, wrong, how things "look", and then what happens in the outcome. Not one of these things neccesarily has anything to do with the other. It's probably best to have a lawyer from the beginning, rather than later. Things can often "look" one way or another way, but without good legal representation, fair and proper justice may not always prevail.

I think a lot of members including myself were under the impression that Pips being a BILLION dollar company had an entire legal staff working for them. As far
as the freezing of funds goes ive read that even in Malaysia the courts allow
a certain amount for living expenses and legal representation.

I've read they don't. Guess we didn't read the same thing. Frozen funds aren't given free this lightly.

What would the "formal charges" be?

Well, it didn't all get frozen at once but slowly over time as the various banks defaulted on the transfers and froze the funds. That meant loss of ability to pay for anything as it dwindled down, so he(BM) probably was trying to use what he had left to invest or earn more. Big expensive lawyers probably got put on a back burner for when needed.

True, you can't hand out money for free. Nobody likes a man who hands out free money.
