Default News March & May 2008

Hi all. Here is Thebat$'s repport from his trip's from March 2008 and May 2008.

Trial March 2008 = Trial postponed. (No big shock. If its one thing they are good at, then its postponing...)So i didnt even bother to send you the trial email in March 2008.... Admin...

    Trial May 2008
    =

The Bat$ predicted this trip would end in postponement, it did. Furhter more reliable and trusted source revealed to us that BM is trying to free his wife, SM but the authorities will not budge.

According to the source also, he told us that it was revealed that the authorities do not believe the balance BM has in the bank that was frozen is all the money he took. More is still unaccounted for. It is unconfirmed but the source thinks the local FBI will also look into the matter.

The authorities also know abt BM's convention in Hawaii, Langkawi and the Phillipines.

Here is the report as given by the Bat$

    My report of today's proceeding 6 May 2008 - theBat$

    6.00am - Got ready
7.00am - Got into a taxi heading for the KL Court
7.30am - Arrived in court, waited until 8.30am
8.30am - Get in line to make inquiries
9.00am - Searching for the courtroom in the massive complex.
(took some pictures for you all to see)
9.15am - Found the Court and entered it.
Judge on leave!!! Cases reassigned to another court.
9.20am - At another court, lots of prosecutors, lawyers and
    defendants. No press.
9.45am - Still no sign of the judge and BM or SM.

10am - The crowd of people thins.

(Overheard, conversation of court officers regarding BM who is still in custody in Seremban, not here today!)

10.30 - I get a chance to get a trial update from a court official,
new date set tentatively 11 to 15 August 2008.

    Summary:
Judge on leave, the replacement judge was not in. No Mr. Moviestar lawyer today. As usual, I have disappointing news.

    I'll be heading home today.

    Your man on the ground,

    theBat$ (walking difficultly)

A big thanks goes to TheBat$ for going down there again and agian on behalf of Rc's Pips membership, and getting the updates for us, even if it must be very frustrating for him to travel 400km each way just to get to report that the trial was

I also hope you all, as our member seeking pips news can make a few good comments/feedback on the Free work TheBat$ does for us all. Another big Thanks goes to those of our members that have participated inn our "PIPS FACT FINDING FUNDS" and made it possible for TheBat$ to travel to KL Court, and helped covering the costs he has had to now with traveling to the region and obtain the information...

As usual theBat$ goes above and beyond the call of duty to end up with the same frustrating news as before. The wheels of justice do move slowly no matter what country it is it seems. All kinds of stories swirling around about the Marsden's and their trials. One day, hopefully, before the year 2010, they will have a trial. Hopefully one day they will have a judge and attorney who will show up. Incredible.

If Marsden's was to sit 5 years. He has been already sitting nearly 2.5 years hasen't he? So if he is convicted, would that mean he will just sitt for another 2.5 years or?

Sitting so long without a finished trial for BM does start to have similarities with whats going on in Guantanamo Bay (Taliban sitting without trial's). (Minus the torture bit ofcourse).

I agree justice system is very slow mostly all over. That Malay system is so slow, and makes people sit for so long without a full/proper trial is just SHAME!...

    Default the Marsdens

Many thanks to the Bat for his perseverance and commitment. Please remind me how to contribute some money to his expenses.
I feel very badly for Bryan and Sharon having to be in prison all this time without a trial. I wonder if the system will compensate them if found innocent of the charges? Makes you think they might have a vested interest in finding them guilty.

It is my understanding that this time they have been in jail does not count towards any jail sentence they would receive if found guilty and one was imposed. As of right now, they have been in jail since October of 06, or 20 months. If these trials are held in August, as now scheduled, they will have been in jail 23 months.

For them to get out of jail on bail, they would have to meet bail requirements from both courts, not just one since there are two trials involved, and two separate set of charges. The only reason why they are still in jail at this time is because they have not been able to make bail. Had they done so, they would not have been in jail all this time. It is not the authorities that are keeping them in jail, but themselves.
