    Default egold Secure Update

Did anyone receive this notice sent to your email address?

** e-gold Account Secure Update Information Notice **
Restrict access to your e-gold account
e-gold's Account Secure Update (a.k.a. SecureUpdateT) enhances the security of your e-gold account by enabling you
to direct the circumstances under which your account may be accessed. SecureUpdateT was designed to provide you an
additional level of protection in the event your passphrase is compromised due to poor security practices on
your part (we hope this does not describe you!). However, SecureUpdateT features should not be regarded as
diminishing the importance of reading and practicing ALL of the recommendations on this page.

Download Secure Update ONLY e-gold site https://xxxxxxxxxx
You should NOT open or click on the link.

Yeah, I got it too..I have an e-gold account..BUT I NEVER click on ANY links in e-mails...I always manually type them into the address bar..But when I hovered over the link the URL looked correct of https:///www.e-gold.com :?:

Oh well, can never be TOO careful with those buggers.

    Cheers

I got the email, but it is definitely "phishing" because it was sent to the wrong email address. My email listed with e-gold is a different email address.
I also got one for Paypal, but again it was to the wrong email address.

Yeah, I deleted it, too, but it definitely points to the correct address - maybe they made a boo-boo!

If you check the email header, you will find out that it's not from e-gold.

e-gold doesn't send you any emails other than their automated response of PIN number, when new account is created, or someone used your egold progeney ref url.

don't be fooled by appearances. it only appears to point to the correct address. when you look at the underlying html, the actual link is hardwarehelp.co.uk/temp.htm.
