Default Feb. 01, 2006....Ahhh The Memories!

It is hard to believe that one year ago today, in the midst of trying
to introduce HaLotto for the good of all Pips members, Bryan was considering the introduction of "Keno" for the sake of all Pips members as well!

The one on the lotto site will obviously play with real money.

    I found this interesting.

    Royal World Casino states:
Keno is another popular online casino game. It is a lottery based game which has been played for quite some time now. Though the two games i.e. online keno and lottery follow the same concept along with the same rules but the way they are played is very different from each other. It is a game based on luck just like lottery. Since keno is a very clear-cut game with not many rules to follow makes it even simpler.

Keno is a very simple game where the goal is to match as many numbers which a player selects to those that are drawn. It offers the opportunity of captivating large payouts on comparatively small wagers.

A player needs a keno ‘ticket’ for the game to start. Each ticket consists of 80 squares numbered from 1 to 80 where each row consists of 10 numbers. After getting hold of a ticket a player is required to choose at least 4 numbers to utmost of 20 numbers between 1 and 80 along with the wagering amount. Maximum of twenty numbers can be selected because a draw of only twenty balls can be made in one game. Now twenty numbered keno balls are drawn at random from a spinning cask which consists of 80 numbered balls. The number of matches gets highlighted and a payout is rewarded on basis of the same.

So the money which a player can win depends upon:

    * The type of ticket being selected and
    * The number of spots that are caught.

A player has a choice to play as many tickets he/she wishes to. A player could win as much as $50,000 on a $1 wager. But the house advantage varies according to the type of keno game selected for play. Though house edge is somewhere around 30% or so. Since keno is a game of luck and chances of hitting one selected number is only about 0.25%. So possibility of changing the odds of the game and lowering of the house edge is not possible. So it’s best for a player to think before playing the game if making money is the objective.

Few tips which a player can use to increase his chances of winning:

    * Keno is a game based on probability where chances of any number getting selected is same. So just because a number has not appeared for quite sometime does not mean that its probability of getting drawn is higher than other numbers.
    * Before a player decides to play for real should always take a feel of free game first. And should not try to search for a pattern followed by computer as it is impossible to reproduce a computer algorithm.

So the only difference between keno and other online casino games is that keno offers to win a lot of money with help of a single bet at once whereas with other games a player wins a huge amount of money over a course of the game play.

Just a couple questions for the "Wizard of Odds" at Bodog.com:

My wife and father in law went to Las Vegas a couple of months ago and she asked where the Keno games are (sot the Keno slot machines) and was told that most hotels didn't have keno any more. Is that true? And if so do you know why Mr. Wizard? - Bill from Malibu

I disagree. I can't think of a single major Strip casino without a keno lounge. In general, the only casinos without keno are the locals casinos in the suburbs of Vegas because most of us locals know that keno is a sucker game. Jan. 14, 2006

Sir, I recently read in a book about odds that the odds of hitting all 20 numbers in keno are a quintillion to one. The book described this by saying that if there were one drawing per week and everyone on earth always bought a ticket, it would take 5 million years to produce a winner. My question is, is there a prize for hitting all 20, and if so, has anyone ever hit it? I've heard that no one has ever hit keno in the history of Vegas, it this true? - Tim from Greenville, SC

The probability of hitting all 20 is 1 in combin(80,20) = 3,535,316,142,212,180,000. So the odds are more like 3.5 quintillion to one. Assuming all 5 billion people on earth played once a week, there would be one winner every 13.56 million years, on average. Most casinos pay the same amount for hitting close to 20. For example, the Las Vegas Hilton pays $20,000 for hitting 17 or more out of 20. I have never heard of anyone ever hitting 20 out of 20, and I doubt very much that it has ever happened. Oct. 18, 2005.

I doubt that Bryan knew any of this though...right?

    BTW....
If you noticed the poll taken, most were in favor of Keno.

I agree Dreamer....unless proven otherwise! LOL!
But then again.....Proven otherwise would mean
that Bryan knew that others were wrong!
Keno and HaLotto were the answer to starting the
    re-structure that would revive Pips!
All that was needed was a few more funds!
Forget about the investigation at hand, the defense
funds would cover that minor obstacle!
Whoops....the investigation appeared to be abit more than
minor, and the defense fund went where?? Hmmmm......
    $$$$$$=Poof!
Well at least the HaLotto dollars went into a virtual trading account!
Wait a minute....what virtual trading acct. did the HaLotto dollars
go into?? Oh yeah, I remember now, that was Barry's 10X5 program!
Let's see now, if I am not mistaken here, once Bryan was exposed as
being "Barry", at 10X5, he decided to transfer the funds, that had
been invested into HaLotto, into the 10X5 virtual trading acct.
How considerate indeed! (After the "fact")

Just out of curiosity......anyone want to wager on what that "virtual
trading account" is worth? Maybe as much as Picpay?
I bet it is worth no more than the promise that was made to those
that invested in HaLotto, but not in 10X5!
(Just in case you missed it....neither had a promise!!)

    BTW....
I realize that none of this has any bearing upon the outcome of
    the trial!
I just wanted to clarify this, since some may come back and claim
that I am saying that Bryan is guilty until proven otherwise.
That is not what I said, but you might consider the past in order
to prepare for the future! Just a thought!

Maybe the original monies collected by members went into funding the Barry James ventures ? Two programmes are better than one must have been the thinking. Was it just the two though ?
