Default Please - let's be civil to one another

There are, of course, two sides to every argument. It is the nature of human beings to argue passionately for what we believe, and then to be angry when someone disagrees with our viewpoint. And when I’m angry I may use critical language that I wouldn’t use at some other time. And so forum disagreements escalate as I get angry with what you said, and you get angry with what I said. And before long we’re using profanity and hate filled rhetoric just like they do over at TG.

I don’t know the truth about what Warren has posted or what Gary has said. Maybe PxPS is coming apart at the seams, or maybe Bryan really is a mastermind that’s going to pull a rabbit out of his hat and make us all rich beyond our wildest dreams. I have an opinion about who is telling the truth and who isn’t and I will make my opinion known in other posts. But the point I want to make here and now is that we shouldn’t make this forum a war zone over what Bryan may or may not be doing.

Can’t we post our opinion without accusing the other guy, and demeaning his opinion? Can’t I argue for my side without using criticizing words to describe the other side? Everyday I’m beginning to dislike, more and more, what this forum is becoming. State your opinion, and state it forcefully. But don’t defend yourself by accusing someone else, and don’t using demeaning language just because your angry. The truth is, you’re not really angry with your fellow members of this forum. Instead, you’re angry with the lack of information and the confusion of the moment. So, don’t take your anger out on somebody else, who is just as anxious and confused as your are.

The Bible says it like this, “We urge you, brothers… encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15

Well, I don’t think I can give any better advice than that.
