Following E-mail were just received and is assumed to be fake (phishing):

This automatic email notice lets you know that modifications have been made to the Account Information settings for your e-gold account.
The current settings for your account can be viewed and modified at the e-gold website:
Enter your account information and approve or deny the modifications made. If your account information remains unconfirmed for 72 hours, your account will be suspended.

User Agreement, Section 9: we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us. We may also take these actions if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us.

After the suspension of your account, please be advised that you will be prohibited from using E-gold in any way. This includes the registration of any new account.

I did not respond to it, off course, but reported it to E-gold.
I assume this is a phishing mail since E-gold never ask for this information in a mail.

I think there needs to be a group of BOUNTY HUNTERS established for the scamers on the internet and Bounty placed on their heads just like the cattle rustlers of the old days !!! If a few of them were dealt with in a firm and old fashion manner ,, maybe this crap would stop or at least slow down ,,!! Internet rules will never be inforced to protect us ,, because our lawmaker don't want us making money on the internet or maybe getting ahead or the game !!! If we do, they will lose their death grip on our lives and control over it !!! OFF THE SOAP BOX NOW !!! Thanks for the heads-up solhov !!!

This is a scam! The email you received was not sent by e-gold Ltd. It was a fraudulent attempt to compromise e-gold accounts through a scam known as "Phishing". e-gold never send unsolicited emails asking customers to click on a link or open an attachment in an email. If you clicked on the link, there is a strong possibility you may have malicious software on your computer. Please review the security recommendations listed on the e-gold security page on the e-gold website.
