Which doweling jigs do you use? And which one can you recommend to get for a newbie?
There are a lot of types of them, however choosing the good model can be a problem because sadly many doweling jigs provide low quality and are difficult in using. Your best choice will be the classic self-centering doweling jig, this style is if preferred by many experienced woodworkers and recommended for the beginners too.
There are several types of them according to price:
- the basic models (they cost no more than $40) - they have holes sized for various drill bits

Well, i am not really a great specialist in woodworking or doweling jigs. However, i used to like woodworking while I was a kid. My dad's favorite hobby was woodworking and i was doing it with him, as it was kind of our father - son time. We still do this from times to times, especially when we haven't seen each other in a while. The last time we have done it, my dad was using a Dowl It 2500 Dowel Self Centering Jig , 2-Inch capacity with 4 tapped holes. He told me that it is the best one at price per quality. Ohhh man, i remember how my old man got angry as he has ordered a new and really expensive sander and it appeared that it does not come with the battery. He was fuming, while i was laughing my arse off.
