Remmington from the series 700, chambered in .308 (7.62) with a good fixed scope in 8x40, but you will have to choose a scope and rifle depending on the conditions you plan on hunting.

A 26'' barrel and a 16x50 scope on a dense forest where you will have at most, a 50 yard visibility will equal failure.

When a 22'' barrel with a fixed 4x40 scope would do just fine.

You can pick a different magnification scope like a 4–16x50 (4x zoom to 16x zoom) but not all rifle scopes can take the recoil, and the good ones are expensive, for example this 3–15x50 steiner scope costs more than $1000 dollars: GS3 3-15x50

Personally, my favorite deer rifle is my Kimber Model 84 in .243 with Federal Fusion 95 grain bullets. Deadly accurate, light recoil, and capable of dropping even the biggest buck at ranges up to 300 yards. I want to try modern smart HD scope https://www.atncorp.com/smart-hd-optics with it. I think it will improve it!

I own an AR-15, it is a semi-automatic, gas operated, magazine fed .223 caliber rifle. I think it is great choice. I also want to get one of the scopes for it from https://www.agmglobalvision.com/thermal-imaging soon to upgrade it. And what about you? What devices do you have?
