Is Muay Thai good for self-defense? Why or why not?
Muay Thai involves mostly knees, elbows, and brutal variations of punches (see: spinning back fist) which in most cases are much more dangerous than punches or kicks and conventional self-defense technique. If you want to incapacitate or possibly kill your opponent on the street as your means of self-defense, go for it. And good luck with the legal proceedings. As a final piece of advice, keep in mind that the best kind of fights are the ones that don't happen or are avoidable. With or without training, you're always taking a chance on yours or someone elses life. Hitting someone in the wrong place is all it takes.
Thanks
