Default Anyone has an experience with teaching computer games for children?

How good are they? And what can you recommend me for learning alphabet and reading? Thanks!

It's a very popular trend in education now, however they've already existed earlier, for example I remember very well some computer games for learning foreign languages and alphabet, personally I adored them because they were so fun :) Modern games are in fact an upgrade of classic teaching games, they usually have high quality, are based on professional methods of learning and simply interesting for children because they adore games and gadgets in general. Besides games in general are the most effective method of learning smth, especially in such small age and using cool devices for them too creates even more motivation in children for learning. Even professional teachers recommend them for using before the start of primary school. But anyway they should be used in complex with other methods of teaching and time with gadgets should be also controlled by parents because getting an addiction to them in such small age is unfortunately very easy.
And in case of certain games you can try Fish School HD, Cool4MathKids and Tiggly Chef Addition for math. For alphabet such games as Numberlys, Baloony Word, Zebrainy ABC Wonderlands https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-s...165324239?mt=8 and Alphabet Antics are considered as very good ones. There are so many of such games in fact, you didn't mention the age for your children so I recommend you to check ABCya! resource for more of them too, there's a great variety of them for all ages :)

Oh, thank you so much!! I've never tried these games before and now I'll know where is better to start. Also are the games you mentioned free or non-free?

Analog games are great tactile tools to get kids excited about learning, and digital games add a level of interaction by creating unique experiences, more complicated storylines, and offering different types of player collaborations, such as global villages of student teams.
