Hello forum, Ive been a while on my journey to become a Rhino/Grasshopper developer, and its been really fun, but I feel like I might need a change. I am currently looking for new job opportunities through linkedin (Rhino/Grasshopper related), but it just seems hard to come by anything intereseting, so I come for advice. I would really love to hear your stories of how you came by your current job as a Rhino/Grasshopper developer, and if there is any advice on where to look for these types of jobs, I would really love it (maybe I just don’t know how to use Linkedin well lol). Thanks in advance for sharing!

What helped me was branching out and joining some niche communities. Funny enough, while figuring out how to join SHRM for something unrelated, I ended up learning a lot about networking smarter—not just applying, but actually connecting with people in those roles.
The name’s JOE NYAGGAH. I am a tireless seeker of knowledge, occassional purveyor of wisdom and also, coincidentally, a graphic designer.

In as circuitous a reason as a philosopher is wont to offer, my school of thought is reliant on schooling my thought – thoroughly, regularly; keeping abreast of design, branding, advertising trends and solutions.

I get where you’re coming from — the niche nature of Rhino/Grasshopper roles can make the job hunt feel a bit like fishing in an empty pond. Most people I know who landed those positions did so through smaller architecture or fabrication studios, or by showcasing projects in community spaces like Discord groups, specialized forums, or even direct outreach to firms that use computational design.

And it’s worth remembering how much these roles tie into data-driven decisions – developers build dashboards and analytics tools that turn raw data into actionable insights, helping you make smarter business decisions, which is why some teams even look to bring in someone who understands broader workflows, similar to when companies decide to hire saas developer talent for complex digital pipelines.
