1st stage of project to build quays at Basra port completed
The Iraqi Ports Company has completed the first stage of a project to build two new quays at the Umm Qasr port.
“Work on the project has reached 59% completion,” a media official in the company, Anmar al-Safi, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Meanwhile, a project to build four 1.5-km-long railroad lines has reached 78% completion, he added.

Iraqi foreign minister walks out of Libya meeting
Delegates say Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has walked out of an Arab League ministerial meeting in Libya to protest against Moammar Gadhafi's declared support for Saddam Hussein loyalists.
They said Zebari stormed out Thursday after he told the meeting that his government was angry over public comments by Gadhafi pledging support to a group of Saddam loyalists he met in Libya earlier this week.
The group included senior commanders of Iraq's Saddam-era army and officials from his outlawed Baath Party.
On Wednesday, Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh condemned Gadhafi's Sunday meeting with the 29 Saddam loyalists, describing the move as "undiplomatic" and an "insult" to the people of Iraq.

Haidari: We have not received a formal request to postpone the announcement of election results
