The Iraqi Stock Exchange (ISX) on Sunday said that seven companies will join its electronic trading sessions as of next week, brining up the number of electronically registered companied to 14 out of a total 91.

“As of next Sunday (June 21), trading will take place over the shares of seven more companies,” according to a statement released by the market and received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The ISX had witnessed the first e-trading session on April 19 over five registered companies, three banks and two hotels. The banks are the Ashur International Bank (AIB), Al-Mansour Bank and the Iraqi Credit Bank while the hotels are the Ashtar Hotel and Al-Mansour Hotel.

On June 7, the Iraqi Middle East Investment Bank and the Warka Bank joined the electronic trading sessions.

The ISX holds three sessions on a weekly basis: one electronic session over five joint-stock companies on Sundays and two manual trading sessions over 86 registered companies out of a total 91 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
