You are right though John, the occasional update would probably keep things happier, even if it is just a "Hi, I'm still here and working on it" message once a week or so to keep the masses happy.
However, I think in the past Bryan has become unstuck with making announcements too soon (remember VAT? And also Halotto to some extent.) and then getting a huge backlash when it doesn't happen. I think this was just his excitement at wanting to share the news, but ultimately it maybe contributed to the Pips downfall. My guess is that he has learned this lesson and will not make statements regarding Pips until it is all sorted.
