    Default Spam Email

Just wanted to ask if anyone else got an email from

"Book Market Direct" <[email protected]> Add to Address BookAdd to Address Book
    To:
    Subject: Pips

It is plugging OP's new book.

Don't know how they got my email address. It is only used for PIPS and Pips forums.

How do I go about reporting this as SPAM?

Does anyone know how to find out who the ISP is for this address and how I can report it for SPAM

I can't find anything on Yahoo. I thought there used to be a link for "Report Spam" but it may have been another mail host.

Not sure on Yahoo, but most email providers there is a place in the settings to view a FULL HEADER. This gives you the details you want to report.

    Thankyou Moneyduck

I found how to do it on Yahoo and I sent a complaint.

Here is their reply, thought it was interesting.

    Subject: Unsolicited E-Mail
    Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Unsolicited E-Mail

Thank you for your E-Mail. We appreciate your bringing this to our attention.
We do not send unsolicited E-Mails and this was an automated response to a request quoting your E-Mail address.
As this was clearly an error, we have removed your address from our records.

On investigation we find that we have received an unusually large number of such requests within the last few days.
It appears that there is a concerted effort to attempt to cause problems with our ISP by generating a false spam alert.
This is apparently in connection with attempts to discredit the book in question that we are distributors for. Already we have been advised by Amazon of attempts to post multiple unfavourable reviews on their website.

Once again, we thank you for your information and apologise for any inconvenience.

    Sincerely,

    Carroll Warren,
    for Book Market Direct.

I wonder who would do such a thing as try to discredit a book by such an acclaimed author (NOT!!!)
