President Obama Accepts His Top General In Afghanistan's Resignation

Earlier today, President Obama accepted the resignation of General McChrystal, the top General in Afghanistan. Due to comments made by himself as well as his staff to the popular magazine Rolling Stone, General McChrystal had really been causing ways recently.

After a nearly thirty minute face to face meeting between the two, the White House announced that the President chose to accept the resignation, nominating General Petraeus as his replacement in Afghanistan, General Petraeus is already leading the Iraq War effort.

In light of the comments made by McChrystal as well as his staff, do think that it's the right decision for President Obama to make to relieve him of his duties?

I think that Barrack obama is the chief administrator of all the forces and he can do this but the matter is that he has suspended him just two days before when the comments made by this general are coming in air on Friday in a magazine. So he made a decision little bit earlier which can be a turning point for him.

He has the power to do this doesn't means that he can do each and every thing.A man who has served his nation for so many years have at last got this result. Now there will be a hate thinking about the forces among young generations. They think that after doing each and every thing even that your life for your country you will get the gift like this.

I think General McChrystal exercised poor judgment when he made those ontemptuous remarks about top administration. As a four-star general, is job is to carry out his commander-in-chief's orders as best as he can. If you don't agree with the President, go and tell him and get him to change his course. If that doesn't work either salute and "soldier on", or resign and retire. That's the dignified thing to do. Not talk trash to a magazine like Rolling Stone. So in that regard, yes Obama was right to fire him. The last things he needs in Afganistan now is a disgruntled General and his staff.
