Sorry, I don't recall anymore. Was it the independence of the fight against indians or the war north against the south?

Independence was when we decided that we were tired of being colonies of England, exploited for our resources and overtaxed at the King's pleasure. So we delared that we were an independent country in 1776, and fought the English until we won. The men who set up our country were very educated, and knew a lot of world history and English history, so when they drafted our Constitution, they could draw on all the mistakes of other countries, and create something that would work. I am so grateful for that becuase we could have just had a nutcase guy with a big gun grab control of the county, and then we would been a blip in time, or a third-world country.
