Default Is there a way to run a D&D campaign through a Forum?

Hey, I thought it would be nice if we could actually run a D&D campaign on the forum, like we would do an rp forum, only with real D&D rules. I feel that this is possible with some adjustment of the rules for the fight, since we would not like to wait until everyone is ready to see what they will do. What we could do is state something like " my character will attack the nearest goblin that doesn't have someone fighting him yet”. Or maybe the DM will post a photo of the layout and it will be something like " my character will attack goblin 3 if he is not attacked, or goblin 1 if goblin 3 is attacked”. Then for dealing damage, etc., you could roll and basically say, " My roll for hitting was 14, rolling 12 and adding my strength +2. If it hits, I will deal 7 damage, rolling 5 on the damage from my long sword and adding 2 for my strength modifier." Please respond if anyone would be interested in trying it out sometime or if anyone has any ideas.

Personally, I don't like playing D&D on the forum. In my opinion, this does not convey the atmosphere of this beautiful game. Although I've seen that many people have been playing on the forums for months, and they like everything, so why not try it, right? The last time I played this way, a couple of years ago, maybe I should try again? But I forgot a little about the rules, and I need to read more about class spells. And just a week ago, I came across https://dndguide.net/. It seemed to me that everything was written briefly and clearly. In short, I will soon break into D&D like in the good old days.
