Account Balance - The balance of one's current account inside a program (HYIP or other). These funds can be used to withdraw or to invest into program's Investment Plans.

Doubler - This is a program that double your money within period given. You invest an amount of money and you can get back twice that amount you've chip in.

Due Diligence - Is the process of investigating a potential investment. It is a way to verify the validity of a particular program's real investment opportunities,admin's contact infos listed etc.

HYIP Games - Programs created on a "ponzi-structured game" where members should "not invest money one cannot afford to lose", and where there is "never a guarantee of earnings or refunds". Admins promise to pay out up to (for example) 90% of deposits, the rest going to hosting or other fees and the owner's profit.

HYIP Rating Site - A site in which either the site owner, or site members rate/vote for current programs. Rating sites can be a good sourse of information. Use rating sites in order to find when programs started, how much they pay out and what others have to say about them.

Interest Rate - The amount of money in percent that a borrower pays to borrow money (a HYIP pays to investors). For example, if a $100,000 investment has a 5% monthly interest rate, the program will have to pay $5,000 each month (or any specified period) until the program ends.

LYIP - Low Yield Investment Program. These programs usually offer lower rates than HYIP programs and are more stable but you should still invest with caution as this kind of programs are not 100% SCAM proof.

Maturity - It is the length of time that you have to wait until you get your money back.

Payout Ratio - The percentage of earnings paid out in dividends. It is calculated by dividing amount of all dividends by amount of all earnings.

Ponzi Scheme - The term Ponzi is derived from the actions of a man names Charles K Ponzi. It is any program or claimed investment opportunity which relies on new investments to pay off the older ones. Those whom invest first are thus paid their returns from those who invest after them, leaving the last investors the ones who lose out. Many HYIPs who claim to be trading, investing, etc are really only running a ponzi scheme. Some have also compared the US Social Security system to a ponzi scheme.

Principal - The initial deposit one makes to the account. This excludes any compounded earnings added to the deposit.

Referrals - Any member who has signed up for a program using a link provided by oneself. Referral programs are available for many HYIPs as well as other business ventures. They can be quite rewarding at times. There is however a quesion of whether or not referring people to programs that you know are a scam is ethical or not.

Referral URL - This is a web site link that contains your specific username or number that a referral would click on to view the program information. This enables you to get credited for their signup.

ROI - In financial circles, the meaning of Return on Investment (ROI) is sometimes taken as "Return on Invested Capital, a measure of investment performance.

SCAM - is a HYIP or autosurf program that is obtaining money by means of deception. Scam is a fraudulent activity of such programs. Some people think that scams are about 90% of on-line investment business.

Sports Betting Arbitrage - An arbitrage situation is when bookmakers' odds differ enough that they allow bettors to back all outcomes and still make a profit. An arbitrage is often refered to as an "arb". Exemple: Let's take a tennis match. At Bookmaker 1, Player A have an odd of 2 for winning and at Bookmaker 2,Player B have an odd of 2.5 for winning. Now let's bet $300 at Bookmaker 1 on player 2 and $250 at Bookmaker 2 on player B. We've spent $300 + $250 = $550. If Player A wins we get back $300 x 2.5 (the odd) = $750 - $550 (Expenses) = $200 Pure profit . If player 2 wins we get $250 x 2.5 (the odd) =$625 - $500 (Expenses) = $75 Pure Profit. So no mather who wins the better still makes a profit.

Statistics - The statistics shows information regarding your current program. The following information is available (some or all of the information is available) to view in your back room/member area: You view your total investment, amount paid, amount available, referral bonus, total referrals, referral URL, and if available downloads.

Stock Exchange Market - is essentially a central location where securities or futures trading takes place.
