    Investor,
I have been using the Star Trader program for approx 18 months, the program is great for performing the calculations for you ie. Relative Strength Index and Crossover Moving Average Indicators that would take an eon to process manually. You still have to do your own research and DD before making a trade and this honestly comes with experience. I used the program and made phantom trades for 12 months before stepping up and trading 'live'.
2004 was a good year for trading (Bull Market) and I increased my portfolio by 50%. 2005 is more of a Bear Market and not quite so profitable but still a better option than any super fund or money rotting in the bank.
Trading is not for everyone, you need nerves of steel and patience and wisdom. The program is not cheap and there is a monthly download fee, I can imagine many people would lose their money if they relied on the program only and not perform some diligent research before investing in a stock. The program provides indicators only and these carry no guarantees.
That being said I am in a position now where I am going to buy an upgrade to the program (Platinum Report) that hopefully will add to my success rate, I can pay for the program from my winnings and if it doesn't provide what I am expecting then I will revert to what I am doing now.
The key to trading is research, don't think for one minute that a program like Star Trader is going to provide you with magical stock selections, however it does narrow down the field of stocks for you to choose from.
Hope this helps, if i can be of further assistance send me a PM. :)
    Cheers,
    Rob
