Default Help provided by a ROLclub member

I drive for a grocery warehouse here in South Louisiana and, right now, with all that's happened in New Orleans, we're working 28 hours a day, grab some quick sleep here and there then back to driving food, water, emergency supplies, all of it!

Best to you all and I still hold out for the best for PIPS!

Pray for us folks here in Southern States. Is a disaster beyond disasters. But, we'll make it....
This is a thread to show our pride in our fellow ROLclub members who are contributing their time and resources in times of calamity...

I want to share with you, the efforts and devotion given by our one member (mtdavis) that PM'd me, who is spending a good deal of time being at places so victims of Katrina will have something to live by in those dark days of having no home or proper sanitation let alone, financial despair with their love ones.

This is NOT a "handout" call, just a way to exptress our respect and prayers tfor all those involved... go forth and return home safely yourself, everyday you see it needed to help others however small or big your part may be.

I hope you will join me in supporting him with words and encouragement and I'm sure, America can always be proud of its own people for their resilience and resolution to weather the storm themselves despite little is heard from outside to offer help and finance or goods.... it is ALWAYS the opposite and those people or Governments should be ashame of their criticisms of the US, this is the test now getting exposure... :?

I am not in that part of the USA, but I and my family are deeply effected by what happens to our countrymen. As we did during 9/11, we cry, pray and support in any way possible those that are going through this ordeal and those that are trying to help them recover. Americans, make sure to donate blood since there is and will be an incredible need in that area and give to those charities that are on site rescuing and giving aid. My prayers are with you all and I know that we will ALWAYS recover and be stronger for it.

As I watched the massive devastation and plans to move those from one battered dome to the Astro dome 300 miles away for the 30-odd thousand homeless, it is sad to witness those looting too. Our prayers and spirited will focus your tragedy for months to come and the streets of New Orleans will someday drum to life as many once remembered when being there for holidays.

Yes, it is truly sad. Right now everyone from the top officials of the Federal and State Gov't. Need to stop pointing fingers, just put help where it's needed.

Then! sort things out so this type of thing. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Never happens again.

At least the President has assumed full responsibility for what happened last night on the news. A positive step in the right direction.

As for help, there have been record breaking contributions made to the relief of Katrina. Here and overseas.

Thank you all !! From across the Globe.

It's very unfortunate that these things happen, but they always have throughout history and Mother Nature always wins, to this day with all of our technology she still let's us know who's boss to keep us in line and egos humbled.

The looting is a bad thing, but the bad looting basically consists of about %10-15 of criminals and of course the Media blows it out of proportion. The rest 85-90% of what you have seen are people that needed supplies to survive. I can't say I blame them for wanting to feed and help their Families with what means they have.
