Firstly a broker must be registered with the regulating authorities of the country he operates in. Then I would look for quality of service, trading platform he offers, reputation in the market etc. Also whether he offers segregated accounts where the clients funds are held.

The broker must be regulated and other traders must have had consistent, positive experiences with the broker.

Here's a list of things to consider when choosing a broker:
pricing: fixed spreads vs variable spreads; feed accuracy
leverage: is it as high as you would like within your risk tolerance?
****ution: do you get the price you see?
customer service: are problems handled efficiently
platform: can you easily make trades and observe positions + rates
reporting: are your statements clear or incomprehensible?
charting
reputation/capital: are your funds safe?
****** + web options: Can you trade away from your desk?
I am happy that my forex online broker fulfill most of them. :)

I selected some points which you must keep in mind while selecting a good broker.
Comparing FX trading brokers, Average offered, Minimum deposit required,Amount/type of commissions charged,Spreads for major currencies, Availability of mini Forex accounts, Availability and quality of demo currency trading account, Number of currency pairs offered, Try demo accounts
See the demerits of the broker as well...
Well all you need to select a broker which suits your trading style for an example I always look for scalping and not all the brokers allow to use scalping strategies so I chose a broker which allows me to scalp...

It all depends on which country you are in. But in my opinion, the main global CFD brokers are FreshForex, CMC Markets, City Index, and FOREX.com. They are all regulated in multiple jurisdictions, have powerful platforms, and offer MT4.

For forex brokers, there are indeed many options available nowadays, and it's up to the trader to choose a broker that suits their trading style and needs. I myself have chosen Tickmill, and here I can carry out my trading to the fullest. Moreover, the educational resources available here have further enhanced my understanding of the forex market, making it a valuable experience.
