Avastin, Tarceva combo delays lung cancer advance. A late-stage trial found that combining Genentech Inc's Avastin with cancer pill Tarceva, which is co-marketed with OSIP extended the time patients with

advanced lung cancer.

SanDisk Corp. posted a huge fourth-quarter net loss, weighed down by nearly $2 billion in one-time charges, weak consumer spending and pricing pressures in the memory chip market.

PartnerRe Ltd, posted a 79 percent fall in operating earnings for the fourth quarter. Operating earnings, fell to $53.9 million, or 95 cents per share, compared with operating earnings of $257.4 million, or

$4.55 per share, a year earlier.
