Default What job seekers donít know

What does no one tell you about job searching?

There are a number of replies (many with lists like this) but I can’t resist an opportunity to add my own (very recent - I start in a couple weeks) experience with job searching and the things that surprised me. To clarify, I’m a ‘mid-career’ professional that’s taken about six months out of the workplace to evaluate what’s next for me professionally (as well as personally). This used to be called a sabbatical, something not entirely uncommon.

Explaining a resume gap or that I’ve gone another direction in my career than is obvious has taken a lot of time. I am not seeking a position similar to my last job, or at the role level, I’d accomplished already. I’m certain this has some influence on the way people, especially those who have to deal with dozens or hundreds of resumes and cover letters for the jobs they post.

I also loved this field and I have been working for 3 years as a respiratory therapist and I like what I do.
Honestly, I found a job hard because the competition is high but I'm glad that in the end, I managed to get a job. If you are interested in finding out what salaries you can have or other details about this job, I know a site with all the details that personally helped me a lot when I was at the beginning of the path becomeopedia.com
I hope you find it useful.

I think that now every person who wants to count on an above average salary should learn foreign languages. I know that bilingual jobs are in great demand now, because my company was recently looking for a person who must speak at least two foreign languages to work with foreign clients. I looked at the questionnaires on job search sites, but I realized that it would be better to hire a specialist who knows how to conduct interviews and choose a good employee who has all the knowledge necessary for this position.
