My mom has dementia, and when I come in, she doesn't recognize me. It is very painful for me to look at this and I decided to send her to a nursing home that she felt comfortable.

Sorry, to hear about it mate. You need to consult with your doctor before doing that

Oh god, so sorry for you and your mom. It's so sad when your mother has dementia and can't recognize you. It's heartbreaking. The situation you described is awful, and I can't imagine how that could happen. Anyway, I would recommend you a great place, and it's a nursing home from this site kingsbridge.org. My grandmother, who is 80, lives in a nursing home, and she's delighted there. She has many friends there, and she is well cared for by medical and nursing workers. Such places are best for older adults because they have everything they need: communication, friends, and a caring attitude.
