    Wel, we got both paid and free scripts:
    Free:
    PhpBB = phpBB • Creating Communities Worldwide
    SMF = Home of SMF: Free PHP and MySQL forum software
    Those two are the most populair I think.
    Paid:
    vBulletin = vBulletin® - Instant Community
    IPB = Invision Power Services :: Corporate :: Homepage

    Ofcourse, there is ALOT more scripts/softwarez out there, but these are the "main-stream" products.

    i think smf is best for you because of several thing s like it is highly customisable,including the html sef links and you can easily
    get sef urls which in phpbb is very difficult to get.

    I'm managing a phpBB forum for a year, and I'm extremely satisfied with the forum software. It's highly customizable, you can get good support via their forums, and there are a lot of mods too, which can extend the functionality of your forum.

    There are a variety of mods available including a mod to inject topic titles in urls - like this forum. Also, phpBB is very lightweight and utilizes very less CPU. So it is the ideal choice if you are on Shared hosting.

    If you're looking for the best, I'd use vB. Affordable, phpBB.
