Actually I use XP and I think it's OK. I did have Linux on a second dual-boot box for a while, but eventually took it off (machine not really quick enough for it).

I don't necessarily subscribe to the argument that Linux is totally secure because viruses only target MS. There are Linux viruses out there, and if Linux was a prevalent as MS then there would be loads more. There are only more MS viruses because there are hundreds of millions more MS boxes.

Most virsues spread by *****s opening attachments anyway, although of course some notable ones use exploits. If Linux were more widely used then I'm sure exploits would be found for it.
Have you asked jeeves or google about unix viruses before posting ?

Most hits are adds for companys that use mailservers that are swapped with all kind of surprises for windows.

There are 3 or 4 root kits known that can infect parts of a unix.

Anyway, I have posted the link to what I know is woth to try - you guys do what you like with windows.

    Things are so simple :-)

No I didn't google it first, but I since have and there are plenty of them. Not so many for commercial Unix packages, but an increasing number for Linux,

Whereever you like is fine by me but I didn't start the thread. It does seem to be in completely the wrong place at the moment, though!
