Thread: Is obama eligible to the office of president?

On November 4, 2008, Barack Hussein Obama was (s)elected as the next president of the United States. For months now, the question of his eligibility to the office of president has been swirling with increasing velocity.

Questions abound about …

1- where Obama was actually born; Kenya or Hawaii;
2- whether he was adopted by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro, and became an Indonesian citizen; and
3- whether his vault copy Hawaii birth certificate really exists.
Barack Hussein Obama claims he was born in Hawaii. As proof he produced a laser printed copy of a document which appeared on several websites. Two pro-Obama websites, FactCheck.org [1] and FighttheSmears.com claim the document is authentic and proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. From the FactCheck.org website comes this:

“FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as ‘supporting documents’ to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.”
Is this really true?

If you look in the lower left-hand corner of the document shown at the two above mentioned websites, you will see the following: “OHSM 1.1 (Rev. 11/01) Laser.” OSHM stands for Office of Health Status Monitoring, a unit of the Department of Health in Hawaii. This document was printed on a form revised in November 2001. It was printed, as indicated, on a laser printer. If you enlarge the picture of the document, you will see that a date is stamped on the reverse side of the document that appears to be June 6, 2007; probably the date the document was printed.

Given the aforesaid, this document cannot be the “original birth certificate” as claimed by FactCheck.org because Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961. His original vault copy Hawaii birth certificate (if such exists) would have been produced on a typewriter; it would not be printed by a laser printer (which didn’t exist in 1961) and it would not be printed on a form revised in 2001 and printed in 2007.

The FighttheSmears.com website titled their article, “The Truth About Obama’s Birth Certificate.” The FactCheck.org website subtitled their article the same. Both claim this document to be Obama’s Birth Certificate when clearly it is not. If these two pro-Obama websites actually did have a copy of Obama’s vault copy Hawaii birth certificate, it would not look like this and it would be a certified copy, duly notarized as a legal facsimile thereof.

What, then, is this document? It is a Certification of Live Birth (hereafter referred to as a COLB) as stated dead-center of the top of the document.

According to WikiAnswers.com, the difference between a Birth Certificate (also called a Certificate of Live Birth) and a Certification of Live Birth (COLB) in Hawaii is as follows:

“In Hawaii, a Certificate of Live Birth is a long form birth certificate. The Certification of Live Birth is the short form birth certificate. The long form contains more information than the short form. The Certification is computer generated utilizing the information from the long form birth certificate. It shows the date the long form was filed. If a Certificate of Live Birth (long form) does not exist, the state of Hawaii will issue a No Record Certification.”
This would seem to indicate that, in order for the COLB to have been issued by the State of Hawaii, the vault copy Hawaii birth certificate for Obama has to exist. But does it? Maybe the better question would be: is the COLB provided by the Obama campaign real or a forgery?

All of this could, of course, be cleared up by Barack Hussein Obama simply producing his vault copy Hawaii birth certificate for Americans to see. So why hasn’t he?

The answer to that may have something to do with claims that Barack Hussein Obama was adopted by his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, changed his name to Barry Soetoro, and became an Indonesian citizen; that Barry Soetoro was an Indonesian citizen when his father enrolled him in the Catholic Fransiskus Assisi School in Jakarta, Indonesia. The document and its translation can be seen here. The authenticity of the document can be obtained here. The document lists Lolo Soetoro as Obama’s father (not stepfather), and lists his citizenship as Indonesian (not American, not Kenyan).

If Barack Hussein Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro in Hawaii, his original vault copy Hawaii birth certificate would be sealed; a new vault copy Hawaii birth certificate would be issued under his new name and any future documents would show Lolo Soetoro as his father. Go back and look at the COLB reproduced on FactCheck.org and FighttheSmears.com. Both show Barack Hussein Obama (Sr) as his father. How could that be if his birth certificate was changed to reflect Lolo Soetoro as his father?

Is it possible that Barack Hussein Obama’s original vault copy Hawaii birth certificate was never changed to reflect his adoption by Lolo Soetoro; that no record exists in the United States that Barack Hussein Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and became a citizen of Indonesia; and that Barack Hussein Obama has, since returning to live in the United States, perpetrated a fraud concerning his citizenship and his birthright? Is the COLB on FactCheck.org and FighttheSmears.com authentic but still a fraud? Or is the COLB provided by the Obama campaign and produced on these two websites a forgery? Either way, Barack Hussein Obama is implicated in the fraud or the forgery.

If Obama did, in fact, become a citizen of Indonesia, such also precludes his eligibility to the office of president under Article II, Section I, United States Constitution. A Norwegian news agency that reports on events in Africa, African Press International (API), claims that Michelle Obama called them regarding a story they did on Obama’s adoption and Indonesian citizenship, published on their website on October 15, 2008.[2] API claims that Michelle Obama stated to them the following:

“… it is strange that API has chosen to support the racists against my husband. There is no shame in being adopted by a stepfather. All dirt has been thrown onto my husband’s face and yet he loves this country. My husband and I know that there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president, just because some American white racists are bringing up the issue of my husband’s adoption by his stepfather. The important thing here is where my husband’s heart is at the moment. I can tell the American people that my husband loves this country and his adoption never changed his love for this country. He was born in Hawaii, yes, and that gives him all the right to be an American citizen even though he was adopted by a foreigner…”[3]
According to the API website, the tape of the conversation was made without Michelle Obama’s knowledge; that the tapes would not be released until legal issues were settled; that the tapes will be made public any day now.

If Michelle Obama actually did make this statement, she tries to equate “natural born citizen” with “American citizen”. A foreign national who enters this country legally, and goes through the process to become a citizen is also an American citizen; he or she is not, however, a “natural born citizen” and is not eligible to the office of president. This was the lament of Republicans when Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California. This issue has nothing to do with Obama’s alleged “love [for] this country.”

So the questions remain, despite the claims of the two pro-Obama websites, of 1) whether Barack Hussein Obama really has a vault copy Hawaii birth certificate; and 2) if he does, what it says. Another pertinent question is how many different birth documents are there for Barack Hussein Obama and where do they emanate from.

Lawsuits were filed in several states prior to November 4, 2008, challenging the right of Barack Hussein Obama to be on the ballots of the various states where the lawsuits were filed. Those lawsuits were, for the most part, dismissed by the courts of the respective states.

However, two lawsuits still exist before the United States Supreme Court: Berg vs Obama, et al and Donofrio vs Wells. [4]

Meanwhile, the enterprising hosts of the Mike in the Morning show out of Detroit, Michigan called the Kenyan Embassy in Washington, DC and spoke with the Kenyan Ambassador to the United States, Peter Ogego. Ambassador Ogego had some most interesting things to say to the WRIF hosts. That conversation was recorded and can be listened to here. The bottom line, however, is that Kenyan Ambassador Ogego confirmed that Barack Hussein Obama was born in Kenya as claimed by Obama’s paternal grandmother who states he was born in Mombasa, Kenya; that she was present at his birth.

Barack Hussein Obama was born of an American mother and a Kenyan father. If he was born in Kenya, his mother was still American. Could she confer her American citizenship to Obama even though he was born in Kenya? According to VisaLaw.com, a child born of an American parent in a foreign land between December 23, 1952 and November 13, 1986 would have to meet the following requirement to claim American citizenship:

“When one parent was a US citizen and the other a foreign national, the US citizen parent must have resided in the US for a total of 10 years prior to the birth of the child, with five of the years after the age of 14. An exception for people serving in the military was created by considering time spent outside the US on military duty as time spent in the US.”
Stanley Ann Dunham Obama was born November 29, 1942. Barack Hussein Obama, her son, was born August 4, 1961. Her age, at his birth, was 18 years, 8 months, 5 days. To be absolutely exacting; he was born 248 days past her 18th birthday. She would have needed to be 19 years of age prior to Barack Hussein Obama’s birth in order to confer her U.S. citizenship status to her son if he was born in Kenya.

On FactCheck.org we find the following: “Q[uestion]: Does Barack Obama have Kenyan citizenship. A[nswer]: No. He held both U.S. and Kenyan citizenship as a child, but lost his Kenyan citizenship automatically on his 21st birthday.”

A “natural born citizen” of the United States is not defined as someone having “dual citizenship.” Article II, Section I of the United States Constitution makes it very clear:

“No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution shall be eligible to the office of president; …”
Do you see provision made for someone with dual citizenship and, therefore, dual loyalties? The framers of the Constitution, because they were not natural born citizens of the United States, were grandfathered in as eligible to the presidency. That grandfather clause does not extend to someone born in 1961 even if it is determined that Obama was born in Hawaii and not Kenya. And, of course, there remains the question of Barack Hussein Obama becoming an Indonesian citizen when adopted by Lolo Soetoro. The above quote from FactCheck.org is inaccurate when it states that Obama was a Kenyan citizen as a child. He would have lost that citizenship, as he did the U.S. citizenship, when he became an Indonesian citizen.

All of this brings up the very real question: who is Barack Hussein Obama? Is he really Barack Hussein Obama or is he really Barry Soetoro, or is he some derivation thereof? What do we really know about this man? What is his true and accurate history with regard to birth and citizenship? The American people do not know; the American people want to know; and the American people have a right to know.

Barack Hussein Obama has been vetted by no one. If a decision, handed down by a California court in a case challenging the eligibility of McCain to appear on the California ballot is to be believed, the only course of action left to the American people, if this matter is not settled before December 15, 2008 when the electoral college meets, or is not settled by the electoral college when it does meet, is to seek court action at that time, roughly one month prior to the date Obama should be sworn in.

Why has the mainstream media failed to investigate the very real probability that Barack Hussein Obama is not who he claims to be and is not eligible to the office of president? The answer might be found in the bias the mainstream media showed the Obama candidacy. Examples can be found here and here.



One thing is for sure, Barack Hussein Obama’s eligibility to the office of president should not have been neglected until this late date. If he is not eligible to the office of president, as many believe and is quite probable, a constitutional crisis looms. What procedure is in place in the event Obama is not eligible to the office of president seems a mystery. The California case suggests that the presidency would fall to the Vice-President elect, Joe Biden. One would think, however, that if Obama were determined not eligible to the office of president, then the Democrat Party nomination would be vacated. What happens then? Who becomes president? Or does a new election have to be called and we keep warmongering George Bush as our commandant-in-thief?



Barack Hussein Obama claims to be a “man of the people.” If he is then he does not believe himself above the American people; does not believe he is not answerable to the American people; does not believe he has a right to withhold information deemed vital to the interests of the American people; and does not believe himself above the United States Constitution.

If Barack Hussein Obama does believe himself superior to the people of the United States, he will evade and avoid clearing up the questions surrounding his eligibility to the office of president, as he has done thus far.

Why is the media silent on the Obama birth certificate question?

Why has every major news source in the United States almost totally blacked out all reference to the Hawaiian Obama birth certificate controversy?

In layman's terms the mainstream media may be afraid of showing up with egg on its face. Yet, the question about the allegedly fraudulent COLB (certificate of live birth) doesn't want to go away. It is more than simple curiosity that is driving the quest; it is a strong desire for the truth and the hope of avoiding a constitutional crisis that would be unparalleled in our entire history as a nation.

The media recently reported Barack Obama's choice of a corned beef sandwich for his lunch. The question about his ********** phone has gotten more media attention than the birth certificate question. The politicos and media that follow the President Elect are looking more like the paparazzi than a group of professional journalists. What's wrong with this picture; here are a few possibilities.

Besides the obvious, like the fear of embarrassment some have suggested that it is an attitude of "possession is nine tenths of the law." He won a landslide; America has spoken so why bother with insignificant howbeit bothersome minor details. He has got the ball so let him run with it!


The idea is that winning is more important than keeping the rules is anything but American. The next time a whistle blows on the field in a NFL game won't the whole game stop in its tracks and wait for the announcement of the referee. Isn't this a far more grave matter than a flag going down in a football game?

Another possibility is that ignoring the matter will to some degree contain it. Leaving it alone will make it look like it's only a few discontented fringe groups or sore losers who are making waves and they can be ignored.

The timing might seem wrong as in who would dare proclaim out loud that they hate rock music in the middle of a Kiss concert. Conservatives it seems are loathe to become overtly vociferous while the liberals and Dem's are at the peak of the honeymoon stage and still celebrating their spectacular win.

But the timing is actually perfect because if the question is not answered until after the inauguration every ****utive order or law Barack Obama has enacted will be nullified. Ambassador Alan Keyes was the first one to point out this salient fact but neither the media nor the courts seem to be taking this fact too seriously at the moment.

Conservative media seems to be largely ignoring the question. Hannity has taken to airing the Roswell UFO conspiracy; Beck and O'Reilly are relatively silent while Limbaugh may be the only talk show personality who has spent any time at all on the subject.

The idea that there are only a few internet bloggers who care about it makes it seem like a trivial matter. The offering of the COLB which now appears to be fraudulent was not made in the mainstream broadcast media but on the internet (Kos) so painting it to be the rantings of a few discontented internet bloggers doesn't fly well at all. The insult if there is any, is not to internet bloggers but to the constitution and the laws of the United States. Isn't that newsworthy?

World Net Daily the largest independent conservative news source on the internet has begun to take signatures from people across the country to petition the congress to demand the vaulted copy of the Obama birth certificate. At the writing of this article signatures were coming in at the rate of 1000 per hour. Someone is paying attention and it would be absurd to think they are all just a band of sore losers and malcontents.

Alan Keyes who has filed suit in California to block the 55 electoral votes from being counted until Barack Obama verifies his citizenship is keeping the readers of his site, Renew America abreast of every effort made to uncover the truth. Renew America is not only one of the internets most popular sites but it is among the most tasteful conservative spots on the web.

This question deserves more attention for the noblest of reasons. It is about the law of our land. If we are to be a nation of laws then we all need to know our chief law maker is abiding by the laws already in place. The dignity of the Office of the President requires it and the American people deserve it.

The mainstream media may choose to keep a low profile on the matter for now but it takes no great skill in prognostication to know this. The minute the honeymoon is over and Barack Obama has made a few unpopular decisions the American public may demand to know what they think is not now very important.

Newsweek Magazine recently featured an article and a full front page cover telling how Barack Obama wants to style his presidency after Abraham Lincoln. To those who have followed the stories of Obama's past associations through the press it would seem that it is a little too late to make such a comparison. But if that is so what might Lincoln say to this subject?

Lincoln buffs and historians know all to well that it may be this famous saying from Abraham Lincoln that best speaks to the entire birth certificate controversy. "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

Sooner or later all Presidents regardless of their style as a Commander in Chief have had to come to terms with the fact that this country isn't founded on any man's style. Rather it was and hopefully always will be based on the Constitution. It is the Constitution that asks the question to President Elect Barack Obama; are you a natural born citizen of these United States?

It is "we the people" who are living our lives and abiding under the laws of the constitution that are asking the President Elect if he would be willing to satisfy the question the constitution puts forth. The media may ignore this question, the courts may decide it is not relevant but the constitution will yet be answered as "we the people" say in the common vernacular "sooner or later."

Supposed Conspiracy Claim Turns REAL on Obama
It is becoming painfully obvious that we may very well have a criminal President in 2009. No this isn't a joke. What I speak of is the curious developments in the supposedly racist, biased, dumb, as well as insane case of where Obama was born. Why the Barack Obama Birth Certificate Issue Is Legitimate

A strange development indeed is how it is that every time Barack Obama or a family member tells of where Obama was born, they seem to have no idea as of December 2008.

Hospital after Hospital - all Have No Record of Obama being born or Mom Ever being There.


Hospital after hospital in Honolulu all have NO RECORD of Obama or mother ever being there. Is this some state secret? Are we to believe that even the hospital that he was born in should remain secret? Why lie to us as if it matters I mean the man did win the Presidential vote? Why the lies and secrecy?

We already know that Obama's family and the entire nation of Kenya (which is about to have a national holiday for Obama) know that Barack Obama was born in Mombasa Coastal Hospital in Kenya. The government of Kenya has sealed these records. More and more secrecy due to the fact that once proven, Obama will not be constitutionally allowed to become President of the United States!

All of these were called from November 20 - December 2nd 2008. It is confirmed, OBAMA not born in any hospital in Honolulu County! NONE FACT!

We were pretty detailed in our calls. You can look at every hospital here and call any of them. You can file freedom of information acts, you can do everything and anything you wish. Barack Obama was never born in a hospital in Hawaii as claimed.

Only his original that he has sealed will have this info. Will the Supreme Court force it open and thus preserve the Constitution of the United States?

Why the Barack Obama Birth Certificate Issue Is Legitimate

Hawaii Issues Birth Certificates to Foreign Born Residents!
Here's Hawaii saying it like it is. All Doubts Cleared my Friends.
A. From Hawaii's official Department of Health, Vital Records webpage: "Amended certificates of birth may be prepared and filed with the Department of Health, as provided by law, for 1) a person born in Hawaii who already has a birth certificate filed with the Department of Health or 2) a person born in a foreign country" (applies to adopted children).
B. A parent may register an in-state birth in lieu of certification by a hospital of birth under HRS 338-5.
C. Hawaiian law expressly provides for registration of out-of-state births under HRS 338-17.8. A foreign birth presumably would have been recorded by the American consular of the country of birth, and presumably that would be reflected on the Hawaiian birth certificate.
D. Hawaiian law, however, expressly acknowledges that its system is subject to error. See, for example, HRS 338-17.
E. Hawaiian law expressly provides for verification in lieu of certified copy of a birth certificate under HRS 338-14.3.
F. Even the Hawaii Department of Home Lands does not accept a certified copy of a birth certificate as conclusive evidence for its homestead program. From its web site: "In order to process your application, DHHL utilizes information that is found only on the original Certificate of Live Birth, which is either black or green. This is a more complete record of your birth than the Certification of Live Birth (a computer-generated printout). Submitting the original Certificate of Live Birth will save you time and money since the computer-generated Certification requires additional verification by DHHL."

Now that we all understand that you can be born in Madagascar, Russia, Norway, Brazil or even Kenya like Obama and still have a REAL birth certificate that both Snopes and Factcheck would say was real since they are real. That doesn't mean you were born in Hawaii. Does this matter to America?
Barack Obama has as of November 27th 2008 spent over$500,000 U.S. to prevent others from seeing it. Why? Didn't he already win the vote?
Please don't bring up Snopes (link) that says THEYVE SEEN Obama's birth certificate and it is the one on his site called Fight the Smears. That is just plain garbage as it has a 2007 border and doesn't list the hospital, Dr. or place of birth! Plus they say they've seen his real birth certificate (you know the one that we the people aren't allowed to see) .

All of the people born in Korea, Kenya, Mongolia, Australia and who also have Hawaiian birth certificates also have REAL birth certificates.
This does not mean they were born in Hawaii. Get it?

The following is what Obama has on his site as his real birth certificate authenticated by Snopes and Factcheck. Hmmm - 2007 borders, no info on original at all? What's wrong with this picture? Yes it is a real birth certificate, so are the tens of thousands of other birth certificates given to people born in other countries.


Please don't bring up Fact Check either (link) as they and Snopes can literally LOOK AT the thousands and thousands of birth certificates in Hawaii from people born in Korea, Australia, Germany and even Kenya like Barack Obama! They are all REAL and Authentic birth certificates, but that doesn't mean Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.


Snopes and FactCheck aren't lying when they say the 2007 birth certificate on Obama's site is real. So are the thousands and thousands of birth certificates in Hawaii from people born in Korea, Australia, Germany and even Kenya like Barack Obama! They are all REAL and Authentic birth certificates, but that doesn't mean they or Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

This is the whole point my friends. That is why many of us are incensed that Obama is about to become the President and may not even Constitutionally qualify to be one!

This is unacceptable to every American who understands that Hawaii issues birth certificates to those born in foreign nations.
Yes - it is a proven fact that Hawaii grants birth certificates to people born in other nations! If you or I want a copy, they produce the document that you see on Obama's site. That is NOT the one that has what we need to see to have Obama become President of the United States.

To become President of the United States one must meet 3 criteria.
You must be 35 years of Age
You must be a resident for 14 years
You must be a natural born citizen - this is the one that someone born outside of the United States would obviously spend hundreds of thousands $$ to prevent us from seeing his birth certificate, just as Barack Obama has done. Hint Hint.
What is Barack Obama Hiding? Can anyone answer the question as to where and what hospital he was born in?
Time is ticking and it looks like all hope is on the Supreme Court on Friday when they review a csase before them designed to force Obama to release his birth certificate. December 5th 2008 is the deadline for them to meet.

No One Checks these People's backgrounds at all?
There is in fact NO ONE that checks. That is part of the lawsuits before the Supreme Court against the DNC as well as Obama. All they do is ask the state of birth if they have a real birth certificate on file and what the date of birth is. That is ALL! This is the whole point of the matter.
