Is it compulsory to close your eyes while praying?

Christians advocate closing one’s eyes while praying, citing many reasons for that. One source says: It might be a hint our ancestors left that you cannot perceive god using the human senses. Absolute focus. Eliminate distractions. It’s easier to have a mentally ready brain (to pray) when your eyes are closed.

I don’t think Muslims close their eyes while praying, or do they?
