Loki, thanks for sharing. I'm glad to see the result we achieved so far in this thread. I never knew it would be so profound before I started it :-)

I believe you said "What the bleep" inspired you. Me too. I was thrilled to see that quantum physics serves only to confirm that the Word of God is true. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not the science of quantum physics that discovered that the atom is not the smallest thing? That there is in fact something at the core of the atom, the "essence" of the atom, the life of the atom. They call it LIGHT! Atoms make up every thing on earth and LIGHT is the essence of the atom. It tells us in the Word that everything that is was made by JESUS, who is LIGHT.
Try as they may, you cannot seperate science from God. Science only proves that there is a God who made the heavens and the earth.
Anyway, I thought you might find this interesting.
Keep seeking.

Kristin is not mine at the moment, ironically her real boyfriend (they're not fine together last I heard) is named Mark... just like me! I'll do just like God... it's just a small mistake, I'll fix that for her
I have looked into quantum physics and from that perspective WTbleep left me a bit frustrated (although not sceptic). One has to verify the claims rather than get carried away by the sensational presentation.
Quantum physics is not an exact science and no one can really tell whether atoms exist on what they are made of... It is like trying to determine how the universe started and when; you can come up with plausible ideas but never really be sure. Quantum physics was actually started when scientists realised that the atom couldn't be the smallest particle in existence, there were other things that behaved differently from atoms, where much lighter in mass & weight and had an electric charge (we are referring to electrons here). Today we assume that atoms are made up of electrons and protons, but the truth is that we really do not know. Quantum physics' main research is concerned with what matter and light is made of and how it behaves and one theory assumes that light is electrons that are travelling in packets (called quanta). (some even think it is made up of particles that are even smaller than electrons).
The model of the atom known today is pausible because it helps to explain the behaviors different materials have... my last suggestion though is this: make of the scientific babel whatever you want.
The sure thing is that everything is connected, the charges in every little piece of matter affects and is affected by everything else, even if it is millions of miles away. The Earth (like every electron that composes us) is being affected by the sun, the moon and every other thing in the universe.
In the universe there is unity and this unity keeps everything workin as it should, it keeps planets moving in their orbit, cells in our body serving each other, brains becoming conscious and creative and living things being nurtured.
In my opinion this unity is not that different from the unity between mother and child, so it's like everything is part of a big LOVE. It's also one of the reasons why I tend to see lots of good in the world.
Is this the love & light of Jesus? He did not clearly sign underneath, but what's important is that it is there for every living thing.
But that's where science stop and our personal experience tells us truths that don't belong to science; because science only works with systematic, repeatable and quantifyable stuff.
"To the dull mind
all nature is leaden.
To the illumined mind
the whole world burns
and sparkles with light."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
1803-1882, Poet and Essayist
It is also worth mentioning here that science has never been attempting to disprove God (no study on the matter can be possible), Communism tried that, not science. This is a myth that comes up from time to time and was especially popular in the times of Charles Darwin. Science is about verifying things before assuming anything, a way to search for truths by observing how the universe works, rather than believing things in a superstitious or dogmatic manner. On the other hand, religious fanatics tried in vain to condemn science.
The best way to coincide science with God is by throwing fanatism away as beautifully described in the following quote:
I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.
Galileo Galilei
Italian astronomer & physicist (1564 - 1642)
Galileo here is not saying anything against God, he's just using common sense to build his own idea of God, like any scientist would do. Forgoing the use of intellect is a sin most grave in the opinion of scientists, and I have to agree there.
Ultimately I guess God will never make him/herself clearly apparent to public science, whether it's quantum physics or anything else. The only way to discover about him is to have your own
personal, unbiased and open minded search. (I have been an atheist for over 12 years before I found the answers that made me believe in God and trust him... and my life changed) If God made himself public, many people would blame him for many things, most of which they are suppose to be responable for. There is no growth in that. Some people are still not mature enough to live with him.
For those who are ready to grow God shows himself, and in a variety of ways. Some feel him in their hearts, others in their minds and others in the miracles that happen in their life.
My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.
Albert Einstein
US (German-born) physicist (1879 - 1955)
To me it happens whenever an incident occures to correct the path I'm moving in. It happens so much, I can't but think that my life is a tapestry that some Higher Intelligence is weaving to it's own will.
And that's what I'm still seeking now... exactly where does it want to lead me?
Coincidence is when God wants to sign his work while remaining hidden.
