Default Chalk Up One for Privacy

The below is an excerpt from the Sovereign Society A-Letter titled "Chalk Up One for Privacy." I was thinking about a reply I wrote to a member about being insane in my opinion for considering going to the F.B.I. for any so-called "help" in our offshore Pips situation when I ran across this introduction article under the "Privacy and Rights" section of the A-Letter. It ends with a link to the originating source. For those of us in the U.S., keeping tabs on the blatant abuses to our Constitutional Rights under any given Administration as well as on the government's Federal and State "henchmen" is a real responsibility for which each U.S. citizen is responsible. To fail to do so is to fail to protect yourself and your families; this is especially relevant to our Pips/Picpay context should they be restored and our money with them. Overall, this is something to think about and to remember while we continue to consider our situation with Pips, Bryan and whatever the BNM tries to pass off as an investigation.

    Chalk Up One for Privacy
The US government just dropped a gag order demanding a library hand over a patron's records. The undisclosed library, (it must be kept secret under the PATRIOT Act), refused to give information to the FBI. The librarians dared to ask the question that should be asked when the US government demands information: "Is this person really a terrorist threat?" The demand dropped, the ACLU calls the librarians' stand a victory for privacy.
But why is the FBI so interested in what Americans read at public libraries? There aren't any "Terrorism for Dummies" books, so why demand book check-out records? Is book censorship next, with the FBI burning books with "sensitive material?" In George Orwell's 1984, Big Brother's minions rewrote literature to conform to government standards. Is that next for America? LINK: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=1836506

On this same topic, Forums are not long out of reach for lawyers and those who would be pressing civil suits.

No longer can you hide behind a 'user name' and feel that whatever you wish to comment on or point a finger at is safe. Search warrents have actually been presented to Web*******, to turn over all there information in an attempt to identify the slandering members. There are law suits popping up all over the internet bookmarked for slander. Several of them have actually been won, and the slanderer has had to compensate the victim.

So when one pops off at another, big brother or his lawyer buddie just might be looking to make some bucks at a forum goers expense. Some times it is better to remain silent than to tell the 'victim' what an ***** he/she actually is.

    ...big brother is watching...

You are exactly right. Playing smart is an act of a healthy survival mechanism these days. Seriously, in this regard, I would like to encourage any member of this forum to study and learn how to act and protect themselves against a governmental culture of corruption and run-away litigious legal system. It may seem an over-simplified start in this regard, but signing up for the free Sovereign Society A-Letter will provide very useful information that may help you to navigate relevant news and determine intelligent action.
