Couple claim trial to more than 48 counts of money-laundering

Bryan John Marsden, 58, and his Malaysian wife Phan Sew Ken, 50, were accused of a further seven counts of money-laundering at the Session Court here on Tuesday.
They allegedly received money that were proceeds of unlawful activities between Jan 4 and June 14 last year.
The transactions, amounting to US$3,100,799.33 (about RM11,470,000), were said to have been done through their company (Pic Pay Dot Com Sdn Bhd) account with EON Bank Group in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
Marsden was charged with committing another two counts of the offence involving RM106,000, through his personal account with the same bank on Jan 28 and Feb 20, 2004.
The couple were charged separately under the Anti-Money Laundering Act before Sessions Court judge Allaudeen Ismail.
They claimed trial to all charges.
To date, Marsden has claimed trial to a total 57 charges involving nearly RM46mil while Phan has 48 charges against her involving more than RM38mil.
Marsden was represented by J. Kuldeep Kumar and Phan by S. Puspanathan.

So now we are down to $3M from original $7M figure? Where did the other $4M go? I would have hoped the figure of total money laundered would have gone up offering a little hope for refunds of those who had pending withdrawals in Picpay, but this is not a good sign when charges go up, and money goes down. (g)
another speculation, but I think a more reliable one (just like nej's): I guess these 5 years are what the prosecutor asked considering the accusations...

One extra word puts a different connotation on it.
I thought that Brians wife was sharon who is this other lady. Was she with him when they had the last convention. I do not understand all the negative. Everyone knew that picpay was an imatation of egold and that something negative was going to happen. We should all hope that when this is over pips will continue and we will get the money with all the interest afterall it is still working.
