Hi, I haven't been on the site in a while but this was not what I expected to see!!! So what does all this mean for us who have lost money???
the Only answer to this, is to wait and see what is the outcome of the trial for now.13th of sept is very soon, and we might know some, or all facts that day.
I think only a handful of you have properly understood the charges. It says that, "committed the offences by RECEIVING money that were proceeds of unlawful activities". Meaning the money WE sent to invest in PIPS! Have any of you been asked where you got the money you invested? I sure haven't.
I don't suppose we'll ever know the truth about it all but I do find these particular charges extremely odd.
The "Unlawful Activity" was PIPS itself which was a PONZI and is illegal in every civilized nation on the earth. We all engaged in an illegal PONZI for fantasy returns which never materialized for the vast majority of us who had bad timing. The fat lady sang a long time ago on this one so I don't see what all the shock and awe is about, LOL. For god sake, go buy some dinars and stop flushing money down these HYIP/PONZI/SCAM toilets.
AMEN DANNY51.....lol.....even IF BRYAN is found not guilty, and thats a VERY BIG IF with 41 counts of money laundering,i for one, would ""NEVER"" invest another PENNY in any OF HIS DEALINGS....HE lied.....he BLAMED everybody else FOR HIS failures...THE ONLY question I have is i thought they said around 7 million dollars???...i was made to understand that PIPS had over a billion dollars......so....WHERE IS THE REST OF THE MONEY??????....mybe one of his ""LOYAL"" stooges can answer that question....good riddance...Pat
Justice? How about Copernicus, Socrates, and even Jesus?

But i think its in our best interest to just wait alittle while longer and see the results of the trial. From where i come, nobody is guilty until proven in court.

History is full of great examples of great people striving to do good things. How about the Jews in Nazi Germany, etc.?
My memory is of Bryan Marsden and the “Golden Womb” plan, which being much smaller, survived long enough for Bryan to restructure, with no additional investment required. He would have done the same with PIPS, given the chance.
Once again, it is the people who have been cheated. Sad, but typical.
In Canada, the banks want to take over the Insurance Business to make huge profits. Their track record is abysmal, with valid claims being denied, and appalling lack of concern for proper administration to ensure fairness and ethical underwriting.
We now have a “Conservative Government” who will quite possibly let the banks have their wish, and the fantastic and very fair and ethical history of insurance managed by independent agents, destroyed!
Bryan wanted to help the “Little guy” – and had a lofty mission. But unfortunately, he was too far ahead of his time, IMHO of course!
I still believe in him, but not in so-called “justice”! The world powers will continue to destroy each other, kill thousands, and always be “justified”!
Emerson will have the last word, read: "COMPENSATION" - by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Had the "Trolls" tried to help Bryan, he would have succeeded - but they didn't just want to defeat Bryan, they wanted to hurt all those who bravely invested and hoped to win. So before blaming Bryan - look in the mirror!

Reason: Typo in heading: s/b "Socrates"
I'm not sure this means anything, just one more step.
"A Bank Negara official told reporters later that it was the first investigation
of a case where illegal deposit-taking was allegedly done via the Internet. "
So, the problems has been that BN, stopping the system. And, the reason is
"Illegal Deposit-Taking", is that all they could come up, over a year?
Seems money laundering has a different intent than "illegal deposit-taking".
This is a Joke! Only they are fooling around with PIP'ers money. I sent my money in my self.

Where does that leave those of us who invested in PIPS? How do we get our money back?
No one has the answer to that at this point in time. The only fact (in writing) we have is what was presented to us this morning by the Malaysia Star..."Bryan & Sharon were arrested yada yada yada". Yes, others might say, "The writing has been on the wall" and that may be the case but it was a bit late for all of us that had already invested so what's the point. I pretty much kissed my money goodbye when I made my investments. Correct me if I'm wrong but investing is a risk you take, regardless of what you are told initially or along the way, it's a gamble. I wasn't in a position then or now to lose the money but I took the risk and if that is the outcome then so be it. I've read many posts today each with their opinion and it is just that, their opinion and we all have a right to it. I don't think any one of us has any control of what the outcome will be for PIPS investors but rather than expelling so much energy on bantering back and forth (not you baumer) maybe a list should be gathered of all investors that didn't get to complete a questionnaire and submitted to the powers to be so they are aware of who we are and if there are any monies to be distributed in the end, maybe we might be able to at least get a piece of it back. It might be wishful thinking but it sure beats the hell out of doing nothing. People in Malaysia were able to complete questionnaires...why not give all the rest of us the opportunity to as well. Hey...just a thought.
It doesn't take long for the vultures to begin picking at the body, does it? He's not even dead, and already they not only circle, but swoop and strain to pick at his flesh. With the pressure that Bryan is under right now, do you honestly think a suit for $6,000 is going to matter in the slightest? I never met the man, but the comments from everyone that I have seen here and on the original PIPs forum were universally positive and respectful of his dedication to helping others get ahead. Any of you hatemongers ever meet Bryan - personally? Or do you simply get off on stabbing anyone in the back who can't turn around and face you?
We invested. We took a risk. We lost - maybe. It ain't over til it's over - and it still ain't over.
"Illegal deposit taking"? What does that mean? Is that like "You're making more money than the government wants you make so there has to be something we can charge you with so we can take it away from you?"
Has it occurred to anyone that Bryan could have been doing the best that he knew how to do all along and simply didn't know about that one little "i" that needed to be dotted that would have made his illegal deposit taking "legal"? Maybe they just made up the "i" especially for this occasion. People get killed for a lot less than $7million every day.
I honestly hope Bryan pulls a rabbit out of his hat. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But I'll bet he'll go down trying.
It's truly shameful how quickly the dogs will turn on you.
